if cx500 needs an amp, you can always try fiio e3 or e5. They are portable amp powered by internal battery(e5) and AAA battery (e3). Above all, they are really affordable.
you can find the price in bulk or music &.... section
ohyea i am also selling my e5. PM me if you are interested

QUOTE(xk2 @ Apr 30 2009, 12:15 AM) Received my SHP8900 from Davis few days ago , now still in burn in process, any suggestion wat amp headphone amp should i pair with this ? since this is a bright sound headphone , i actually prefer warmer sound , any recomendation to make it slighly warmer ? i tried plug it to Asus xonar u1 sc , the result is ''ULTRA SHARP'' , will suffer if listen long time , cannot . Now using onboard realtek. budget ? if you want warm then i suggest you go get a tube amp which will definitely give you warm sound, this is from my pass experience of owning a tube preamp speaker Little Dot or DarkVoice amp are one of famous 1 in this forum, although i nvr try it before

umm i dont recommend you to compare headphone of the same brand first because headphone of the same brand got the same sound signature.
maybe you should compare Sennheiser to Audio Technica or other brand to find out which sound signature suits you better then only move on to comparing headphone of the same brand.
Hope this helps

QUOTE(towkey @ Jul 3 2009, 06:41 AM) One thing is, it's 4 his dad. 4 sure he's gonna use it at home only. It's better 4 him 2 get a headphone instead. QUOTE really? well my dad listen to religious sermons or light music like jazz or classical music. any recomendation? i know this is an headphone thread but i think your dad might prefer a speaker system rather than headphone because a middle aged man might not be able to get used to headphone or IEM Maybe you should opt for some bookshelf speaker or a HiFi System, this might costs more compared to IEM or Headphones Hope this help.

haha i can assure you KSC75 is reli good coz i got 1 too. It amazes me when i first heard it and i have PcWork Recabled it just recently.
Now its bass goes deeper and sharper and it doesn't sound so forward. There are a lot of pros in KSC75, the only con is that it doesn't have sound isolation
My advice is don't rush into things, listen as many headphones as possible then only make your final decision. Don't just rely on review coz each person got their own unique taste.
if wanna test you can always come down to KL or ask our fellow Penang audiophiler to let you test

QUOTE(zs3889 @ Jul 21 2009, 09:22 AM) Haha ok, but no choice what, hard to have audition for headphones, provided I'm in Penang, do you know any Penang's user kumanosuke?? But nevermind la, since it's cheap, and I will just use it when I'm away from home remember KSC75 has no sound isolation so you won't be able to use it in public transport like train or buses and other people can hear what you are listening because the sound leaks out. about people in Penang using KSC75, you can always go check KSC75 users thread http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/274651/+1920 and i will also keep an eye for you.
