Is it fake? I read many threads claiming there are lots of fake CX300 in the market.

So you are saying that it is genuine? How come it is so cheap? Convert back it is like RM6+??? Would like to buy one for my gf as well if it is true.

Received my parcel yesterday from Amazon for Sennheiser CX300. Opened the package and checked the IEM and I believe it is a genuine piece. However I find the packaging and build quality is not up to par when compared with my Sony MDR-E848 which I have been using for 6 years. Well, I am just doing simple comparison I paid RM100 for the Sony 6 years ago and the build quality is far more superb than CX300.

If I am not mistaken in Msia the CX300 sells for RM2++? I paid RM60 for it after conversion and man I am dissapointed with it. The looks on the cable does not justify the price I would say, especially when the cable are separated into two strands which makes it looks like FOC earphone. On the other hand the Sony's cable has reflective finish and has more tenderness than CX300. Am I alone in thinking the build quality sucks? Sorry for Sennheiser fans I am just being honest.

Ok, enough of finishing and build, lets move to SQ. Plugged into desktop (office pc as I was working, no additional amp or souncard) and listened to Madonna, Dean Martin. First impression was that it went into the ear canal and blocked outside noise. Played a few tracks and I would say the clarity on this CX300 is better than MDR-E848 although still not burn in yet. Soundstage is wider with clear separation of vocals and instruments, something that the Sony failed to do. Ah yes, it is fast and dynamic. Applause for that!!

A look at the package it says that "Bass Driven Sound" and I believe it means the bass is superb. Played a few trance songs from DJ Tiesto (which I still keep during my youngster days) and the bass does not impress me much, on par with E848. Apart from the bass has faster attack I can't find any better of it.

I am a home cinema fan and this is my second piece of earphone so I don't have much experience / knowledge on this. I do not know how good a RM2++ earphone should be but Sennheiser CX300 let me down by its build.

I am just sharing my own experience as I was very eager to purchase a Sennheiser since ages ago. I chose CX300 based on review on WHF and have not tested any dedicated audiophile earphone / headphone. My opinion might vary with other users.

As quoted above, I just came back to Malaysia last Sat with 2 units of CX300. I gave one to my gf and after lisntened to a few songs she said it is a fake. She googled and found some articles about fake / genuine CX300. However those articles are back in year 06 or 07. I believe some manufacturers had improved their imitation of CX300 over the years as I cant really distinguish whether they are fake or not.

My gf claimed that the SQ is not really great as compared to what she demoed in Machine MV. Well, to me it is not that bad considering the price and I have not listen to the original. My gf is rather pissed off and bothered whenever she thinks of it and I would appreciate if anyone would help me out.

I am staying in Seremban and will be going to Low Yat this Sat (25.4.09). To all proud user of original CX300 users, mind if you able to bring along your CX300 for me to have a look / listen if you guys happen to be at Lowyat this Saturday? Or if there are user living in Seremban it will be better. If anyone interested to help me, kindly pm me. Your help will be much appreciated.

Hmm, what she tested with I am not sure, probably an ipod with lossless files. Anyway we listened mostly to mp3 with laptop or pc. Does that really makes huge difference? If it were fakes, I really couldn't tell as its imitation is very close.

Last night listened to CX300 thru Tian Yun Zero unmod. Source is cd playback from pioneer dvdp thru QED coaxial. The result is ok for me. One thing I noticed is that whenever I moved the CX300's cable along my neck only I could hear some noise / buzzing sound produced. Well, not from the driver itself but from outside due to the cable's movement around my neck. Is this normal?

You know what? Yesterday I asked my gf actually what she disliked about that CX300, she said the SQ makes it sounded like fake, even on par with a RM15 Panasonic earphone which she has been using for quite a time!! I started to wonder Anyway I asked my gf to listen to CX300 for 2 or 3 more weeks b4 switch back to that Panny. Maybe she too used to that Panny?
