Audio Technicas ATH-AD300, A300 or M30.

Philips SHP8900 is not a bad choice as well.

campare between these headphones ,Audio Technicas ATH-AD300, A300 or M30,
1) which one you think is better for music listening ? prefer clarity and every detail
2) AD300 , A300 ,,, AD and A , what is the difference ?

1) All of them have good clarity and detail. That's what AT cans are good at.

2) AD is open-back while A is closed-back. M30 is closed-back.
Open-back cans sounds airier and may have wider soundstage than the closed-backs. Closed-back cans sounds warmer.
*
1) for A300 and M30 , both of them are closed back and having hood clarity and detail . Apart from that, what are the difference ? because they are almost the same price, cant decide .

2) about soundstage and warmer term , I dont understand because i am new in audiophiles wub.gif

3)for close back and open back , what are the difference ? From the google result , I found that open are semi close and closed back are full size headphone ? need real user experience ..

4) Mostly of the time I am using in my own room which only me using it . And about surrounding , quite quiet most of the time.
I need full size headphone earpad to cover my whole ears to immerse myself in " MUSIC WORLD " completely, listen to every essence of music and another reason is i already have one semi open headphone.

So open or closed back , which one suit me ?

AD300, A300 and M30 can be considered as full-size cans, those can cover your entire ear.

what kind of songs you usually listen to anyway? certain genres like orchestral such can be benefited by the wide soundstage found on open-can (AD300 in this case). closed-can (A300) is said to have narrower soundstage, but better bass compared to open-can.

usually listen to lastest Hitz music ( lady gaga poker face, flo rida sugar, Kelly Clarkson I Do Not Hook Up, and many many more ) =) ,prefer clarity + detail... So what's your suggestion ? I afraid bass will affect the clarity , if I want to bass , I think i will play it with 2.1 speaker system , more "boom " , dont you think so ?

Then i think sennheiser is the best choice! They have a balance bass, not that boomy and colder which you still can feel the clarity and background sound but not as clear as the open back due to they are produce more airy sound stage but still very good mids and highs.

Senn 212 or 205 is quite a good pick but bare in mind 205 has longer and thin cable which is quite annoying. If not, the PX series will do and it's portable. Px 100 has more bass, the brother 200 has reduce it's bass but very satisfying Mids sound.

FYI, the bass that play out from the speaker system, even though it's so call very warm and boomy bass, for most normal 2.1 speaker it's more like a fake bass and too boomy will cover up all the background sound. Normal say it's like reviving bass killing the total sound.

Sennheiser is good , but aint good enough in my price range Rm2xx ..... heard from the others blush.gif

Only muddy/boomy bass will affect the clarity. The A300 is nowhere near muddy. The amount of bass produced will be sufficient and adequate for a particular song. Meaning if rock music for example, you'll be hearing the bassline strings and the drum beats that you're supposed to hear, nothing more and nothing less. Now that's quality bass.

AD300 airy signature might lack the amount of bass necessary for the types of music such as pop, dance, R&B, hip-hop or techno (the typical kind of music that Hitz.fm would play). But if you're willing to try it out anyway then by all means go ahead.
*
" you'll be hearing the bassline strings and the drum beats that you're supposed to hear, nothing more and nothing less " , you mean AD300 has balanced bass ? mean medium , not high , not low ?

if AD300 is lack of the amount of bass , then how about M30, for listening to those kind of music ? or you have a another suggestion ?

if the sound is refined to 5 frequency...the strong bass will not affect ur clarity, it will push u if u have great pairing.
for ur budget range, will AD500 be a better choices if budget allowed biggrin.gif

will think about it ... because it is Rm400 rclxub.gif ..... but , isnt it discontinued ? saw from official web site

So you want good detail and clarity with not so much bass, and if you still wanna try AT, then i suggest you go with M30 for a safer bet.

for bass , medium and balance bass is sufficient for me ...not low , not high... just medium

Read that post again. I was referring to A300. NOT AD300.

What i was trying to say is, in my opinion and according to my personal taste, A300 has a much balanced sound than the AD300.

ops , just noticed tongue.gif , sorry sorry.. btw , I cant find any information regarding A300 , even in official web site... So you mean A300 suit me better la rclxms.gif ?

some reviews said that M30 is not comfortable, although it performs quite well.... for me , comfortable come first ...
