I got a KCS75 recently and burn in more than 100 hours but feel it is lack of bass to me (and me myself only).
I am thinking of getting another portable for outdoor/ office use and browsed through Head-Fi then short listed the following: PortaPro (~RM190), PX100 (~RM230), and K518DJ (~RM330). Among these seems like K518DJ is more high end from those reviews but it is also the most expensive of the three.
Since I felt the sound of KCS75 is not so suitable, do you think PortaPro or PX100 will suit me? Should I go a step further to the K518DJ? I will need to budget before buying the K518DJ. sad.gif
Thanks.

PortaPro and PX100  are both on the same platform with the KSC75 SQ wise in my opinion. Tried them all before but I have to say that sound leakage is gonna be a nightmare for outdoor/office use. Everyone near you will be able to listen to whatever u're listening to. Imagine yourself walking into a lift with your headphones on and everything goes quiet when the doors shut while Mariah Carey goes over the high pitches. *Glares from around*

Tried the K518dj too as my friend owns a pair. Have to say that it sounds great but long wearing comfort is questionable. It fits him perfectly unfortunately not for me as the headband seems to extend flat over the top and it presses onto my head. Probably its just the shape of my head. Besides that the K518dj sounds really really good. Would've gotten a pair if it wasn't for the headband issue.

Maybe one of the sifu's can recommend you a cheaper pair of headphones for outdoor/office use if the k518dj is out of your budget. But if you end up deciding on the K518dj u might wanna give it a try first to see if it fits you well

Thanks for the very enlightening points there. Is any local store selling K518DJ? Is it comfortable with glasses? Got any recommendation for an alternative?

yea

been using ep-630 for years n recently bijou n still find it uncomfy..  doh.gif
oh, i thought it's the other way around?

so price for price, headphones will sound generally better?

'm thinking of audio technica m30/m35, or sj5..

maybe even sj3 which is almost 1/2 in price compared to sj5 if da sound is not bad at all cuz i like it white..  biggrin.gif

if it sounds smthg da like bijou then it's good enough for me..

willing to stretch to rm300, preferably lightweight, comfortable, balanced and as long as bass is non-existant..

I thought these phones have more bass... and now you need something else different?

I am looking for a over-the-ear (not in-the-ear) headphone that I can use on my macbook pro. Looking for one that is comfortable to put on and provide good noice-cancellation. I owned an in-the-ear Ultimate Metro.Fi 200v for my iPhone so I hope that the quality for the headphone that I am looking will be around the same as the Metro.Fi for better than that.

My budget for the headphone will be around RM200-RM250, and if possible, I hope that I can be provided places that I can buy (not garage) near the Klang Valley.

Thank you very much.
