Hey peeps I bought a Sony MDREX76LP for RM129 a few months back and I've noticed its SQ is towards the bassy side.

It's only clear and sharp when I pump up the volume but I'd go deaf if I do it on a regular basis.

So can any of you guys recommend an IEM that's about that price and SQ is towards the clearrr crisp type?

I can't fork out any more money after my next purchase so hopefully the next earphone would be satisfactory. sad.gif

Hopefully you people understand me and thanks in advance! biggrin.gif

Mylarone Bijou perhaps, level 4 for more balanced treble and bass.

Yup the Bijou can be one of ur choice but I've nvr really hear it before. My recommendation would be Shure SCL2/SE102 if you're looking for clarity(clear and sharp sound signature) with kinda weak bass IMO, or the JBL Reference for balance in term of clarity and bass.

JBL Reference which model specifically? 220?

And is there a shop in Malaysia where I could get it from?
*
Yea, the JBL Reference 220, I dunno where you can buy it from here in M'sia, I got mine from LYN forumer in Garage sale, it's an OEM version yet it's pretty gd. May be you can try PM the seller Lipfvng see whether he still can bring a few set for sale or not xD

What about Shure?

Any stores here?
*
For Shure, I suggest you get it from Garage Sale as well, coz it's pretty much cheaper than the selling price at those shops. Ban Leong does carry Shure products, even shops like Machine or Mac Studio or All-IT do sell them.

shure are overpriced!!
go for cheaper option biggrin.gif

That's why I said don't get from those shops, read man. Those available in the Garage sale, I think the price is quite justified. Furthermore, the design of Shure are pretty gd IMO smile.gif

well, prefer how the SJ5 looks more, if they are indeed identical in sounding.

will check it out regardlessly, thx..

as for the SJ3, i think i'll just skip laa.. like it white but afraid da sound will fall far below in quality compared to its elder brothers..
indeed, i love bass, but not my ep-630.. too much bass till it overwhelms all the other details..

bijou 3 is okay for i guess, but just can get used to IEM so 'm looking for a headphone sounding smthg similiar to da bijou 3 below rm300..
*
Are you using the headphone/earphone with ur mp3 player or wut?

currently wit my phone n laptop, hoping to get a decent mp3 player soon..
sorry if my post if confusing but i can'T (missing earlier) get used to iem..  tongue.gif
*
I see, if you're going to use it with Mp3 player, I think you should get an IEM instead bcoz normally a headphone will need proper amping in order to max out its performance, and that'll make it kinda bulky to bring around and you'll hv to invest quite a lot of money to get the best SQ out of it xD

haha yea, in a way laa.. though i'm a lil concerned if full sized headphone will interfere when i rest my head on my pillow.. face up, will they?
*
Lol, better don't wear the headphone for so long man, bad for ears xD I don't think you'll be able to sleep while wearing the headphone either, coz ur ears will be stuffy. tongue.gif

really?
well my dad listen to religious sermons or light music like jazz or classical music. any recomendation?
*
For IEM I got 2 for recommendation,

1) Sennheiser IE8~ Rm1300-1600
2) Klipsch Image X10~ Rm800-1000.

I personally recommend the IE8 coz they're very nice, pretty balance in everything I would say, and so far the best IEM I've heard xD

below RM 700
*
Here's the IEM that falls within the price range

RM1-RM100: Creative EP630(50), SoundMagic, Koss KC 75(clip-type), Yuin PK3,2
RM100-RM200 : Music valley SP1, CrossRoads Mylarone X3i , CrossRoads Bijou(180++) , Sennheiser CX300, Creative EP-830, Vsonic R02Pro , Shure SCl2(SE102) , UE Metro Fi , LEAR Le01
RM200-RM400: Klipsch Custom-1,CrossRoads Quattro(269), Monster Turbines(below 400), Sennheiser CX500, Altec Lansing IM716, Head-Direct RE0
Above RM400-Rm800: Atrio M5, Phonak audeo PFE, Westone UM1, Klipsch Custom-2, Etymotic Research ER4, Head-Direct’s RE1, Klipsch Custom-3,

Basically I think the Klipsch Custom-3, Phonak Audeo PFE, and Future Sonic Atrio are the IEM that you should consider.

Honestly it's pretty hard to find those IEM within ur price range that's recommended by LYN members here, coz I don't think they hv these Music Alley SP1 or Sound Magic PL50 there xD However, you can try this Sennheiser CX500, it's selling at £15.99 with free delivery some more at play.com. It's pretty cheap as the normal price is around RM500++ which is around £100.

btw, im still considering which to buy. earphone or head phone doh.gif

for headphone i was thinking audio-technica T22 and for earpiece i'll consider CX500 smile.gif

thanks alot notworthy.gif
*
Yes, that's the selling price in M'sia, but it's now selling at 16pounds only ~RM100 only xD Don't be surprised by Rm500, some ppl pay over 4k for custom made IEM tongue.gif Headphone wise I can help you on that coz I'm more into IEM smile.gif

Thanks! Hv asked him for recommendations, any opinion on Phillips SHE-9850, Shure SCL2 & Shure SE115 for gym usage?
*
Shure are not for bass freak that's for sure, they excel in term of clarity, however, you can improve the bass with amp, and they do fit pretty well in my ears that's all I can tell you xD

i couldnt find that at the website sad.gif

at www.play.com or www.hifiheadphones.co.uk, 1 step up is T44. anyone here used that before?

btw, how is the bass for audio technica?
*
If you want bass, the CX500 should suit you quite well since the CX300 is known to hv bloated bass, thus I expect the same goes to this upgrade version of CX500 to hv the same as its predecessor xD

Hey guys.

I would like to get an in-ear earphone for my MP3 player. Budget <RM400. I usually listen to Rock/Alternative/Orchestra types of songs. I've had the Sony EX51 and it was great! Now I thought of getting a Shure brand earphone.

Any recommendations? Thanks!
*
Oo, Possible to save a little bit more say to ~RM500 xD, coz better mid range IEM is within that range, such as the Phonak Audeo PFE, Ultimate Ears SuperFi 5 and Future Sonic M5/8.

Haha, I don't recall any gd Shure products that's around Rm400, try to do some research about the IEM above, some of them are way better than Shure at the same price, it's just that it's hardly seen in M'sia that's why few ppl aware of their existence xD
