Hmmm...Been trying out my AD700 here..Can't give a definite review of how it sounds compared to HD 555 still...

Once I do, I'll recommend one of them...

So far HD 555 sounds slightly better, because I took off the foam in the earpad already..

WHoever is thinking of getting HD 595, drop that idea. Settle for HD 555. Just do the foam removal mod, and voila! There's your cheap-a** HD 595..

Er..You can't do the same for HD595 cuz it doesn't have that foam I guess? I'm not too sure...Well, everyone's got their own personal taste...

Ijust love my HD555..hahah..

there are foams on the 595 lar bro, yea personal taste. i took the foams of my senns out and it sounded too similar to my grado, needless to say i thought it was pointless. why change the qualities of one to sound like the other, when i wanted them to be stark contrasts?
*
Oh, so you're saying HD 555 foam removal -> HD 595..

And

HD 595 foam removal -> Grado? haha..SOrry, no meant to offend, but just thought it was interesting tongue.gif One man's meat is another's poison. hahah..

owh no, i dont have a 595 lol or a 555 for that matter. im saying that 595's do have foams too, thus if improvements can be made on a 555 by a foam mod; a 595 can be treated the same.
well when i took of my hd650 foams, it was brighter and had less trable roll off. the treble sharpness also changed the feel of the music, in live settings treble doesnt travel that well thus the soundstage felt a little compressed. its no grado but reminds me of a grado, which i kinda felt wrong since i already had a grado.

Oh...Haha..I thought of that too, well, I guess the rational answer here would be the same mod doesn't work the same for every headphone? haha..

You can't apply the same mod on every headphone isn't it? Or maybe you can, but the effect is not guaranteed to be the same..

I did Kramer mod on my KSC75...Wow, it really sounds so much better..hahah...Sorry to digress tongue.gif

well its a senn only mod, you cant do it on a grado for example. then again there are a lot of people who love this mod, sp90 i think uses it for all his senns.

he recommend me it but i didnt like it
simple put sound stage the instruments sound further, its relatively hard to hear it on IEM's but when you compare say a grado and a senn or an AKG the differences are there. however it depends on you to see, if you really need the perfect everything then a single headphone wont do lol
*
Yeah, sep90 recommended that to me too..Then I went headfi and this senior member told me to do the same. He did so many mods to his HD 555 that it doesn't even qualify as HD 555 anymore I think. He did the soundstage mod, foam removal, recable, and some other stuff..Pretty fascinating though, to say the least..

Personally, I'm gona go Grado. haha..No 1 here seems to recommend grado that often huh?

Well, I like KSC75's sound sig more than my HD 555 and AD700..So does that mean Grado's the way to go for me?
