Okay, so what is left in your list of choices then?

I understand that your in a tight budget (i'm sorta a tight budgeting man myself lol), but it's kinda hard to find a really good sounding (portable) headphone with a price of RM100 and below.

Yea I know, what I meant was I wanna skip SJ3, and my list would be SJ1, FC5 and FC7. Btw saw some good review about Koss KSC75 smile.gif it's cheaper, but don't know how it performs.

Ah yes, the KSC75. I've never tried them before but many said it sound pretty good for its price. A bang for the buck they say. You should probably consider it.

Try asking them users in the KSC75 thread. They probably can help inform you better regarding the sound quality and all.

I don't think there's much difference between them in terms of SQ.

yes, but recabled (modded) version of it is another story. i was referring to comments made by casual users/listeners.

A modded KSC75 also depends on what type of cable used for it to sound really good (pure silver, silver-plated copper etc). And without recabling, it already can sound good with the right dap and/or amp.

haha i can assure you KSC75 is reli good coz i got 1 too. It amazes me when i first heard it and i have PcWork Recabled it just recently.

Now its bass goes deeper and sharper and it doesn't sound so forward. There are a lot of pros in KSC75, the only con is that it doesn't have sound isolation

My advice is don't rush into things, listen as many headphones as possible then only make your final decision. Don't just rely on review coz each person got their own unique taste.

if wanna test you can always come down to KL or ask our fellow Penang audiophiler to let you test

Haha ok, but no choice what, hard to have audition for headphones, provided I'm in Penang, do you know any Penang's user kumanosuke??

But nevermind la, since it's cheap, and I will just use it when I'm away from home biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

remember KSC75 has no sound isolation so you won't be able to use it in public transport like train or buses and other people can hear what you are listening because the sound leaks out.

about people in Penang using KSC75, you can always go check KSC75 users thread http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/274651/+1920 and i will also keep an eye for you.

Can anyone give feedback on which of this is better for pop (both chinese and english)/jazz and not too heavy bass, with good clarity and separation:

Shure 115
Crossroads Quattro
Soundmagic PL50

Thanks!

The DT231 offers a more presentable bass than Grados or Senns.

The Quattro has a warm (bassy) sound signature but does not sacrifice clarity. In fact, i find the clarity and separation are pretty good tho it might not impress analytical listeners.

Can't comment on the rest but i think the PL50 might offer a more balanced sounding than the Quattro.

No, the IEM is not supposed to fall out when you're wearing it, otherwise you're using the wrong size of ear tips. Try lift ur ear upwards and backward while putting in the IEM. If all the silicon ear tips can't give you a gd seal. May be you can try Shure olive foam tips or triple flange(ppl say they get better seal with it)? PM Walabies for it xD
