Hi,
I've been reading from http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/868281 ( Section 'B' : General Tweaks & Localising Your iPhone: )

I'm using Iphone 3G unlock non JB version so, I've read the tips there for mass change from Outlook .

QUOTE
1) In Outlook, highlight all contacts and export to .csv format.
2) Open the .csv file using preferably an advanced text editor such as Notepad++ and do a search & replace.
3) In "Find" entry put: type=pref:016 (016 means looking for all DiGi contacts. Repeat this step with 012, 019, etc)
4) In "Replace with" entry put: type=pref:+6016 then search. Make sure you tick "find exact match only" to prevent f***ups!
5) Once done, double check then save the .csv and import it back to Outlook or whatever program you opted to use.

Those on Mac can use Smultron as the advanced text editor.
I just advancing this step using Regular Expression . I'm using PSPad ( http://pspad.com ) .

1. from the csv file ctrl+h (find and replace )

Find: "0([0-9]{1}) (find any text starting with "0x" )
Replace: "+60$1 (replace the result with +60x where x is the result form the Find )

It's easier and match all of malaysia number and don't mess with "0/0/00" ( I think birthday) re export it back to outlook and sync

I hope its help someone with the mass change to outlook

Cheers.

Doesn't the appsupport patch work better instead of you having to add that horrible +6 to all your numbers? :/

lol..from the looks of things, the effort it takes to fix this, you might as well just jailbreak it..

OK here's my take on this. I didn't want to jailbreak my iPhone. However I did the MNP thing and switched from Maxis to Digi and everything broke. All the +60... went away and incoming calls are now registered as 01xxxxxx instead.

I'm not sure if the change in caller ID is on Digi's side or if it's because of the MNP forwarding method done on the telco side. Either way beware of mass adding any prefixes to your addressbook because MNP will screw it up.

Another possible thing that can break caller ID, if you're roaming, some countries' telcos don't get the caller ID correct when roaming. It may come up as weird numbers such as +446012xxxx (when in the UK for example). Again I'm not sure if this is a MNP issue or if it's a telco issue, however the jailbroken appsupport patch works fine since it identifies based on the last 7 digits of the number. Simply adding +60xxx to your address book won't work.

In short the iPhone is broken in this regard. It seems easy enough to fix but the only real way to fix it all the time is to jailbreak your iPhone. My experience, your mileage may vary...

Celcom does not work now, as it sends sms using +60 prefix and incoming calls as 01X prefix.

Anybody able to confirm whether maxis uses +60 prefix for both sms & calls? I am interested in switching.

verify this file :
/private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/com.apple.AppSupport.plist
set the two items to my

CPActiveCountryCode my
CPNetworkCountryCode my

restart
tell me what you have found instead
and if it works also without 001 my

When I checked the file, I found the two items are set as:

CPActiveCountryCode my
CPNetworkCountryCode sg

Thus, when I changed to:

CPActiveCountryCode my
CPNetworkCountryCode my

and restart. It WORKS!!
