List down your pc specs here. Also , try downloading K-lite codec to play movies

I had that issue before, but after use klite codec play movie with media player classic then no prob. Now I change to new laptop, no more lagging issue even play dota.

Another solution I heard from my fren is reformat or run some housekeeping on the machine. Maybe run some virus scan and etc.

So I suspect is your spec issue or your system slowness issue.

Try using K-lite codec pack for your movies first. Try not to open too many programs when u play DOTA

Make sure that you've got the appropriate codecs and please remember to update your graphics card driver.

I assume ur hdd is causing the loading time of ur movie to be lagging..i've tried saving some movies on my external hdd and play it directly from it..it's lagging a bit at time compared to my internal hdd...well just my $0.02...

I won't recommend downloading DirectX from "Filehippo", the best is to download from official website of Microsoft.

Playing dota and watching video at the same time =.=
If your graphic card is integrated one then it may lag... Try not multitasking so much! Or tell us your graphic card!
