I agree trench coat should be wore outside DURING cold seasons..not in Malaysia...where it's sooooo warm and hot...regardless in doors or out
That's what bothers me because I dont want to get the coat and use it only once (since they cost a bomb for me).

If you are wearing it to an event with a parisian theme then its fine. Dress like you're living in France that night.
The coat does add a big fashion symbol to parisian theme

Phillistines. Those 2 coats in the pictures are nothing close to a trench coat. One is a double breasted overcoat, the other is called a field jacket.
Added on November 16, 2010, 11:48 pmThen you are misinformed. Originally trench coats are raincoats made of treated cotton drill so as to make it water resistant. Its primary usage is to filter out droplets of rain water from hitting your clothes similar to your yellow poncho. Of course there are also woollen versions for cold seasons, just like how one should wear flannel trousers during winter, not denim in Malaysia.
Agree but it's rare to find people wearing trench coats on the streets of Malaysia

I was thinking of wearing something like below (just a simple shirt and jeans with the coat) please comment ^^
