QUOTE(jind86 @ Jan 14 2009, 06:34 PM) Fusion[eX] & 2kia - alright, appreciate your opinions.. redscorpion - nice jersey collections.. Added on January 14, 2009, 6:36 pmi just got this suit, so thought i'd share it with you guys.. suit by Lord's Tailor shirt by Topman tie my own watch by Dunhill belt by Dunhill shoes by Cole Haan It's kinda hard to see in this photo and pose but the shoulders aren't shaped properly. Boxy shoulders. Proportion of tie knot and shirt collar is also inappropriate. Shirt collar roll is also bad. And forget about the dimple in that skinny tie. Either you tied a horrible knot or the tie just doesn't work with it. Perhaps you might wanna go with a four-in-hand instead. Button stance is also a bit high for SB. Mind I ask is this bespoke? If it is I can say the fit is rather bad for a bespoke suit. My two cents. This post has been edited by calvinloke: Jan 16 2009, 08:12 PM

QUOTE(jind86 @ Jan 16 2009, 09:40 PM) ok thanks calvin for your opinion, i actually left the technical side to my tailor.. and from my point of view, the suit looks great.. well i actually got my suit from Lord's and the master tailor Robert Loh himself attended to me, he has dressed Mel Gibson, Muhammad Ali, and Siti Nurhaliza to name afew familiar ones, therefore i would assume that he is one of the best tailors in Malaysia.. Personally I would prefer lesser break in the pants as well. Sleeve pitch is off. There's nothing much that can be done at the moment. Perhaps you might compare your shoulder with a properly padded natural shoulder I posted below. About the best tailor in Malaysia, I rest my case. I don't think there would be anything to do with your watch. Sleeve pitch refers to how the sleeve is connected to the sleevehead and how much of the sleeve is rotated back or forth by using the shoulders as an axis all based on the person's posture. Wrinkles around the arm will appear when sleeve pitch is off. We can see clearly from the pictures or perhaps your posture causes it. Do a better posture next time. Anyway I would like a roped shoulder with minimal padding or perhaps even sloped shoulders on my next suit. I agree on the comments on the suit although I just wanted you to look at the shoulders. heh. Fusion[eX], I am fine with high button stance actually but I'm thinking that the low rise pants makes things worse. Sorry but I'll stick to my natural waist when wearing suits. Well I had only heard where there would be pullings/ripples at the back when the shoulders are too small. Never heard of taking in shoulders would lead to the extent of hindering arm movement. Usually off the rack suits that came with low armhole position causes it. Most of my suits are made with high armholes. Did you opt for one?

Sheer ignorance/vulgarity. Belt is made to go through belt loops. Passing it below the label would give people the wrong idea that you are brandishing the label instead. It's as douchebag as popping collars or wearing your collar outside jackets and leaving tags on your suit. Nothing is wrong. Just subtlety wins everytime. I'm sure GQ readers like you would had known this for a long time.

I think a knit tie works better with jeans. Always.

Do you get those shirts from Padini? As I have noticed for some time, dark shirts with green, white or even yellow stripes seems to be the popular choice among students these days. And yes, I hated them.

Just to share my past and last experience on those jeans. There was once I put on those pair of skinny pants and it took lots of struggling to get my feet in. Later in the day, my legs are sweating like mad. I couldn't sit and bend my legs comfortably like I do in normal jeans. I burned it the end of the day. Sure, that is just my problem or maybe you're used to it. For me, it sort of compromises the main functionality of jeans where it was invented to provide comfort in the first place. No offense, but lately I've seen those converses and jeans were somehow affiliated and worn by punks with Ah Beng style. Too much horror I see and said. My apologies if I offended any skinny jeans fanatics. Keep on rockin'

FusionEx, regarding that look I feel that brown/burgundy shoes with gray pants works better. Elegance at the top but it feels tad boring from the waist down.

SF fact : I share the same birthday with yfyf! I do love his outfits especially those with a raincoat. Meanwhile do take your time hunting on brown shoes. hehe. I feel the urge to go sockless tomorow. The pants will be a pair of cuffed navy dress pants with black derbies. Should I? This post has been edited by calvinloke: Jun 17 2009, 09:24 PM

I haven't come across any no show socks yet but I would rather show my socks if I'm really wearing socks. Since you are a fan of yfyf, do you undo the second button on your left sleeves as well?

Do you have a special occasion today? Why are you so dressed up? I just wish the pants are slightly shorter Other than that, nice combo.
