I'm pretty fine with slippers, but it depends on the occasion also la. But going to classes with slippers is just plain stupid.

Mate, the minute you wear slippers to college, you're lifted up and put into a different category right away.

Not in the too-kool-fo-skool category, the Other category.

I would suggest trainers or chukkas. Loafers might be ok, but might also be a bit too much - it depends which college you're going to as well as what you're studying.

Wearing slippers alongside with a nice polo/t-shirt & fitting shorts is not all that bad. Just make sure you look presentable and clean.

As long as its not those oversized, worn out, dirty slippers it should be fine.
