Hey man,
I have tried Attitude a few times but I don't own a bottle and i doubt i ever will because Armani colognes are known to be quite weak and short lasting. Most sales people at the counters will always claim that any cologne they are selling is strong and long lasting. Attitude IMO is average in terms of strength and longevity. The reason why you could smell Attitude throughout you workout session is because, 1) The smell of Attitude is new to you and 2) colognes are activated by moisture and body heat.
I normally apply 4-5 sprays of my cologne to my neck and chest and yes most of the time I can smell myself but no one ever complained it was too strong. Even if u can smell your perfume that doesn't mean everyone else can. Using 1-2 sprays I find that rather old fashioned. I mean if u are spend a couple of hundred bucks on a cologne, won't u want other people to smell it too ? The natural progression of a cologne's notes will mean that the fragrance will evolve and most of the time settle down after an hour or so. So my advice is if u want to use one or 2 sprays, don't bother applying cologne...no one will smell you unless they come close for a hug and that doesn't really happen in our Asian society. The world is filled with so many smells and fragrances from other people. I highly doubt 1 or 2 sprays will be enough. But this is just my take because there is no "rule of thumb" on how much and where to spray cologne. Others may agree or disagree with me but in the end it all boils down to what u r comfortable with. Similar to the boxers vs briefs debate LOL.
