Been testing Montale Black Aoud (Extra Concentration) this week.. IMO best aoud fragrance out there.. Dark rose with smooth woody scent.. But it's take a long time to develop on my skin, it's smell linear to my nose.. But it's get smoother and smoother each time i smells it.. Maybe should be wearing this more and more.. This is a loud fragrance, longevity & silage is notorious.. (12hr+++)

Recommended for first time oud lover.. It's more wearable than L'Artisan Al Oudh & Kilian Rose Oud i've been try.

The bottle looks cheap, they just use same aluminum cans for all their fragrances. The different from other montale just the color of the bottle & sticker they put on it. They gave 1 pouch for free.

Price Ranging:
50ML - RM 460++
100ML - RM 650++

Another montale i've tried is Vanille Absolu. Straight vanilla scent, too sweet IMO.. And it's remind me of my body wash (Sephora Chocolate Toffee).. It's smell the same sad.gif ..

QUOTE(GuyzNexDoor @ Oct 3 2010, 03:14 PM)
Bought JPG Le Male and Paco Rabane Black XS juz now from fragrant shop. Darn, the price of JPG already increased. Bought 1 six months ago for RM220, now RM278.  Black xs is RM195 after 15% discount. The SA told me the price of all old frag has been increased. I've been with JPG Le Male since 2001, so not gonna change it tongue.gif  Normally will buy it with 1 or 2 other perfume. So far, beside JPG, i like Armani Code, Boss 6 and CH 212. Thinking of buying Gucci Pour Homme and BValgari Aqua oso, but have to wait for 2 weeks coz she said no stock.

BTW, love to see this thread now got more and more expert like jonny4, mrbs84 and Clavicus. Never miss all of your post tongue.gif  In fact, been using it as reference smile.gif  nod.gif  But of course, some of the frags being recommended are too expensive laugh.gif
*
IMO for that price on Le Male is quite expensive.. But it's a good choice bro..

And yeah don't buy a fragrance depend on recommendation and review. Sometimes have a person that act cool like they know everything on this earth about a fragrance, self proclaim perfumery knowledgeable person but the truth they just nothing..

I suggest sample before buying at least 2 or 3 times is the best for those who wanna buy a perfume.. Different people have a different nose. Some like vanilla note, some hate it. And some people like a thrill to blind bought a bottle, and some is curious into 1 bottle and take almost a month to buy it even forever. In the end of the day everyone will have their choices..

And if u wanna dive in into niche market, u should invest into sample first before going deep into the niche game. Coz not all of niche is nice same like designer also.. Some are gr8 some are not. But as long as u know how to appreciate a fragrance, it's a big reward.. Even a fragrance smell like dirt, u can always layer it with something sweet or floral..

And why niche is expensive? Coz they use all the natural ingredient and take a longer time to process, not like designer they just use synthetic > natural, because they just wanna sell to mass market. More bottle produce, they will get more profit, bottle not sell well, they will discontinued it.. For niche, i'm 95% sure they just don't care about their fragrance selling well or not. They make an art thru a bottle, and they capture what they imagine into 1 bottle to remind them about someone or someplace. And they take more risk, and u will not see any niche ads on the tv..

guys, i need a recommendation. my budget is around rm200-300. planning to get perfume that has decent lasting. i was really interested in mont blanc individuel, know roughly price for it?
*
hi there..

btw long time not visiting this thread..

this my suggestion for u, different nose have a different feel to it, and depend on your skin type as well for long lasting.

dior fahrenheit (which last on me for 2 days + give a body scrub, i still can smell it, old formula one)
hermes tdh (very nice woody, personally i don't like it, maybe you will)
& the infamous a*men thumbup.gif

i think that it, maybe have a lot other frag that meet ur requirement, but this just keep pop in my mind.

btw for mont blanc individuel the scent is good, but will get bored with it sometimes. the longevity just decent... and the price maybe around 150-180.. sorry i didn't know the exact pricing, but roughly around that for designer stuff.

thank you for your suggestions, smile.gif

as on dior fahrenheit, is the smell too sharp or strong? judging from the bottle itself. hehe. tongue.gif

i personally like frag that smells clean, crisp/masculine and light.

around below rm200 yea? thank you, but i'm not sure where to look at in penang. unsure.gif
*
u can go anywhere to find it, parkson, sasa, metrojaya, jusco.. i believe they should have it. but i dunno where the exact location for the store, i not so familiar with penang. if in jb, just cross the bridge, frag heaven waiting for u rclxms.gif ...

yeah the opening is sharp for fahrenheit, it is more hate or love frag..

i'm not to familiar with clean scent, maybe other with help u with.. biggrin.gif ..

tried fahrenheit aqua today..

nothing that impressed me really.. it's more of a tone down from the original fahrenheit with a bit sweet and fruity.

the gasoline still there, but more soft and light.. this is more wearable imo..

the dry down is wonderful, no more uncle smell dry down like old fahrenheit.

the SA told me, this bottle is exclusive for malaysian market, lame sales tactics.. i hope no one will fall for that trap lol..

anyone here use and liked Edition Blanche? holy crap, this smell exactly like limau purut. we use to bath with this during our silat rituals. i wonder why westerners like this smell so much. hehe. you can buy this 50 sen only at the market.
*
i own edition blanche, it's smell like a cheapo frag indeed.. i don't like it much, the silage & projection is crap..

not sure if smell like limau purut, it's more on lemon..

man, dont waste time, A*Men smells literally like coffee. i donno why anyone would want to smell like this. i also dont understand why Thierry Mugler only have this for their male perfume in Malaysia??
*
for a*men i didn't get much coffee, maybe just a hint of it but lotsa chocolate.. the opening makes a lots of people hate this frag imo, because of the strong tar..

btw mugler didn't make any new releases for ages as their normal line-up for men, just those limited edition is keep going. they more interested on making women frag i guess.. with their new womanity frag last year..

a*men, b*men (maybe discontinued), cologne, ice*men (maybe discontinued), i guess that 4 should be in malaysia.. just need to find hard enough..

in singapore u still can find all of them in sephora or discounters except the a*men flankers is a bit hard..

wana ask dat izit good to buy those perfume online...?
btw...
how to check whether izit ori or fake one...?
*
if online, try to get them from those authorize reseller or from the brand main site itself for 100% authenticity.. mainly in malaysia we have none that selling online, except those ori reject or whatever their claiming (which i'm not recommended for u to buy!)..

mainly i get my bottle from fragrancenet (US based), strawberrynet (HK based), some fragrance forum, etc...

my suggestion, if you looking for designer brand, just buy it at retail store. you have a piece of mind without worried it's fake or ori..

for new bottle verification with box:
u can check the bottle serial number + serial number on the box, they should be the same.. if not the same, then 100% it's fake.. big designer company is very details on this number, they make sure both bottle & box serial number is a match.. because the number determines the manufacturing date, etc..

usually if the company made a mistake from this numbering process, usually the bottle will be dispose.. and they never ever sell ori rejected to their reseller, since the reject bottle is dispose..

for unbox perfume, it's a bit hard.. try to buy from authorize seller..

for tester, usually they come with box.. check the box serial also, should be the same..

hi guys...anyone of u bought and try a tester unit perfume before?wat u guys think about it?it is the same as the one selling at parkson counter?
*
it's the same imo..

only different on retail, u will got the fancy box & caps.. with tester sometimes u got caps, sometime don't.. and the fancy box been replaced by the normal brown/white box..

if you don't mind about caps & box, go buy a tester.. value for money lol..

Is this Original or Not? Coz at counter the liquid blue in colour hmm.gif , thanks smile.gif

Hope u guys can help me out, Thanks A Lot notworthy.gif
*
i don't have any experience with sean john frag..

but first most you can ask the person where you bought this bottle from, if you have a authenticity issues with the goods, ask him/her.

if you bought in retail counter, usually they come with box, check the serial code also. i believe you can exchange the goods if you're not satisfied.

frag that been discoloration, usually the old stock. but i'm might be wrong.

and if bought online, you can go at the frag counter to test it out, see if the scent similar or not.

and doing some research on the frag itself, to see if it been reformulated or else..

Hi peeps..

Just wanna share some of my thought on the infamous Sécrétions Magnifiques by ELDO.

This one is really and the most vile fragrance that i've ever smell, period.

It start of very metallic smell. And it's keep remind me of a dead fish. It's like when you go to fish market, the smell of blood+dead fish laying around the floor. That what i got.

I almost vomit on a second sniff lol..

The more i sniff, i got some rotten egg smell, really disgusting for sure. Plus i got hint of some floral but it's ruins by those fishy smell.

My skin smell horrible for a day, it just 1 dab of it, i set to make other people don't get near me lol.. Recommended fragrance for fisherman for sure lol..

@Space

Sécrétions Magnifiques indeed the best seller from the line (as they claim it on their web) lol.. Maybe their sample is the best seller & IMO it's not a bottle worthy.. Other offering from ELDO is much superior than this (Tom of Finland, Like This, Fat Electrician, etc)

Yes, you will get a hint of blood.. Fish blood which is rotten lol.. I can't sniff it at the fullest since the smell really sat me back. I scrub it 4 times, it still doesn't let go. Good staying power, but wrong scent lol..

Yes, the name was really funky.. Check out their artwork, really interesting :-)..

Are there any perfumes smelled like nature?
Like you are on the middle of a pine forest, the air was so fresh, light with a hint of aroma of the pines (woods).

Very fresh, not sweet at all.    cool2.gif
*
I might suggest some on Fresh Woody Oriental, but depends on how woody might you want of course lol..

- Comme des Garcons Wonderwood
- Comme des Garcons Hinoki
- Serge Lutens Chene
- Diptyque Tam Dao

Or some easier to find, which have some Woody feels to it:
- Lalique Encre Noire
- Gucci Pour Homme
- Dsquared2 (I think rocky mountain wood)
- Allure Homme
- Burberry Brit
- Terre d'Hermes

If you're into designer just try terre d'Hermes.. Not sweet, it's citrus/woody & some spice..

Try it first..

It's a masterpiece.. And it's from Elena of course :-)..

Voyage it's a fresh scent as well..

Start with citrus tops and some hint of tea. A bit musky and woods.. Very light & some what aromatic.

Very transparent which is good for office use..

For silage/projection i go for TdH, you can be smell for sure.. :-).. And it leave a good scent trails as well..

For VdH it's transparent, so the silage just decent for transparent scent if compare to TdH..

For Hermes i can get 8+ hours of longevity, so should be no probs. But depends on what type of skin you have as well..
