Hello guys,

I have some questions here ..

I just boot the Windows XP Home Original CD after restarting and it prompts me to setup the XP Home.

What I do is to delete my original partition and create new partition, then I setup the Windows XP Home in the new partition.

Everything is good, and I activated my Windows XP Home and also Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 with the activation code. (Original CD)

Now, I feel that something is not right and the computer seems to be loading in an abnormal speed during startup and shutting down.

I was thinking that some part of formatting which I've did wrongly, perhaps I should perform a format of Drive C by going to DOS typing "format C:" and reboot the PC with the Windows XP CD?

Ok, now my question : Can I activate the Windows XP Home and Microsoft Office 2007 for the second time?

Thanks!

Depends on how soon you are going to resintall your PC a 2nd time. Last time when i reinstalled after 3 days of the initial installation, it refused to recognize my cd key and i had to call microsoft support and explain to them coz i reinstalled my pc due to some corruption problem and they resolved my cd key issue.

I believe there is a period that they will not allow a reinstall of your license cd key, i think its safe to do it after a month.

Btw, the last guy who had a question about whether using windows xp home edition oem is rather stupid since even SME built PC's come with windows xp home edition. Talk about blowing yer head of when he himself not sure.

TS:
The answer to your question: Yes, you may activate the Windows XP Home and MO '07 for the 2nd time on the same computer (Must be same HDD and Motherboard). thumbup.gif

Other than the time clause, if you ever add or change the HD on your PC, that mo***f*** activation thing will flatly refuse to let you activate your XP.

This happened to me once. After activated the XP Pro, run it for like 6 months, the HD died. Got a new HD, install the thing, and when it comes to activate, no way jose.

Had to make that mo***f*** call to Microsoft to beg them for another key.

I'm not sure how many times your can re-activate. Sorry but I've reformatted for 3 times already and re-activated for 3 times already on the same motherboard and HDD without problems.

I've got many friends who are using Windows XP (I'm also using Windows XP). When they add/remove components to their motherboard such as an extra internal HDD -> They call Microsoft Toll-free Technical Support -> Give Microsoft's Technical Support Assistant some bullsh*t reason and they'll immediately allow the activation of your CD-KEY without even requiring another key. doh.gif
