sukhoi, how did you make the front light shine like that? mine shine like its a straight line. Now as advertize on the Tt site.

the two blue led lights at the door.

what Tt on my machine:

Lapped pipe101, using the Tt blower fan that came with the PSU for the fan, until I find a suitable replacement.
Tt butterfly, hardcano.

Question, can the hardcano 12 control a 92mm vantec tornado? The tornado is 12.5W.

what kind of film, where to get, can teach how to put. I actually disc the molex cable to the light. If a fully lighted room, 10m wall an the other side can see blue color, you know this is trouble.
What CCFL is that, can cause blindness tongue.gif

Tt thread lesap, I make new one thumbup.gif laugh.gif

92mm Tornado+hardcano 12?
Will it work, will the hardcano 12 support the 12.5W vantec tornado 92mm fan?
I have just used the hardcano 12 on my case, and it works magnificently. All automatic. I thought the EL light would turn off, guess I was wrong. Hope it does not die easily.

Or I can use the rheostat with that fan?
Thanks

anybody want to use this "custom made" soldered heatsink i willing to let go cheaply la...!!!!

the fan is the 50cfm Delta 0mm, 6800rpm...i havent tested the combination yet.....after soldering it, i put back into my rig and the temp went down 3°C.......a proof to TT's lousy soldering job!!!

i'm using Thermalright now....the right choice for heatsink.... laugh.gif

Tt heatsinks sure have poor soldering quality. I myself own a Pipe101, the fins are not soldered properly, looks like only stacked together. I feel that the heatsink is doing well just because of the heatpipe, and the fins are not doing its job that well.

I used to have a 9cm Smart Case Fan with blue LED version... that one works quite well. But 9cm Smart Case Fan II is better because more top end power, more suitable if going to be used as heatsink fan.

Yes, the fins are not soldered, more like the pipe is holding everything together. Good het disipation due to copper..and lapping

ya, although the official website states both of them r made of alu.
but interestingly, i found that black one is much more heavier than silver one.
n the salesman told me that black one is mixed with steel while only the silver one is made of pure alu.
the door cover isn't made by plastic for both of them. wink.gif

Are you sure? unsure.gif When I bought mine, price is still the same. Its just personal preferance. Just like me, cabut the front light, is personal preference cool.gif Maybe stock habis..so waiting, and some waiting for that viking and shark to come here.
You want cheap...can find that bulk thread...but not sure if posting it to your house will cost the same as buying it at the store.

How to hide the cables? From the PSU, the side of the PSU is too small, though I manage to squeze one wire there. I just sumbat everything to the top 5 1/4 bay. Using the Butterfly. The cables are not that easily bended. Or I need to drill again

Try buying a fish tank filter, cut it in half and within size of the front filter and place it sandwiched between the front filter and the plastic front case, you get better dust filter biggrin.gif just finished mine.

Here is an example I did on my last casing, I forgot to take picture.
The filter comes either white RM1, green RM2 for a very big piece. Also good dampening material.
But this time no need to use any tape, just place it between the filter.

Can la. Make sure the filter is infront of the fan, not behind it. ANother thing is the filter on Tt is half of that, sure can. Also the casing is a bit quieter.

Thermaltake Tsunami users, i need your help here. Can you check the RPM of your front fan and rear fan and post it here? It is strange because I have 2 TT tsunami running exact same system and one of them the front fan is around 2000RPM and the latest one that I bought, the front fan is 4000RPM++ which is very annoying. Is it because of different fans because different batch?

Cannot be 4000rpm. The 120mm fan only up to 2000rpm, mine both is 1999. Weird.

two options: buy a fan controller, like the hardcano 12, which is great, using it.
Second, use the filter that I said before.

Made a couple changes to my rig recently.

1. Removed the big heavy X plate on the front door.
2. Removed the side fan and covered the hole with a piece of OHP film under the laser cut grill.
4. Installed a Sunbeam Rheobus today. This thing kicks ass. cool.gif

Sniper wanted to see the front plate, so here it is.

It came with the case red, but I painted it blue to match my color scheme.
Originally, I did it very nice and smooth with a lil mirror reflection to it. But previously the big metal X plate was installed onto it, so now there are those marks you see near the screws. Thankfully, they're hardly noticeable under normal lighting. sweat.gif

lapping, just lower temp 1/2C thats all. Better use AS5 with that.

That fan is just a rip-off CM dual Storm, Dual Storm looks nicer. but suprisingly, THe CFM and mmH20 is meager. The ttblower has one of the best mmH20. CFM, just get a tornado.

anyone know what good stuff I can place in a 5 1/4' bay. After careful inspection, the Tt butterfly knob is not good for the case, even though its placed back, view sideways, can see the thing trying to push the case. the inside now has a minute scratch. I don't want to place a speaker system, a lighter, a fan controller, and those hd thingy.

What good stuff can I place. Wanted the watercool, but needs two slots. Any LED or something there. For next mod project

No, tsunami does not come with any hardcano. Try the lanmoto if you want hardcano 9. Hardcano 13 is out already.

Whole casing is ALU except the 2nd front door which is plastic.

And that plastic panel is what spoils it. I don't see why since the Xaser2, they insist on using plastic for the front panel when everything else is alu. dry.gif

The rheostat is too big, protruding outwards, and even though the bay was behind, like the pics on the pages before it did not look nice, The door di manage to close, but on careful inspection on the side, the door was not close properly, more like forced close. Because of no ideas how to solve the Tt rheostat that came with the butterfly PSU, so I did this modding. Anyone can do it.

The problem

Items:
the rheostat & a drill, prefered with a forward backward driving and wood bits.
Here are the step by step pictures:

Those lego pieces is to support the rhostats, And Because I did minor drill errors, like one controller is 3mm higher than the other thats why the lego pieces are not of same height.

Now I need suggestions. Look at the 1st picture of the last post, there are two USB and one D-bracket for pc monitoring. Since I already remove the USB to the Tt case, I need suggestions on how to fix thos 4 LED's up front with the two rheostats. Oh yeah, it works great. I just save some RM50 or more on the front rheostats from vantec.

This time the rheostats tak langgar that door

dude why work so hard. get a cooler master fan controller. can fit closed bays
if it can fit a wave master, confirm can fit yours

Cause I'm dirt cheap. Naah I wanted to use the Rm200+ drill that I've bought not too long ago tongue.gif Actually yes it can fit in, but sure tak lanngar the door? Or force cloose the door?
And I already have the hardcano 12, No use for another set of rheostats. Too much free time, and that thing keeps bugging me.
Now any suggestions on LCD or whatever to fit into one of the empty bays. The other empty bay is reserved for my warranty dvd

for the front 1, if you prefer to put it at the back you can use a pci slot cover and drill holes n fit it there

or else you can actually mount the fan controller on the cd rom bezel, and mount the usb, dled thingy below it so it looks like an all in one console for fan controller and diagnostics
*
It is that thing. Actually it is from the PCI slot. I removed it front because only the diagnostic is working, the USB are useless now. And I want to have more free PCI slots for other stuff whistling.gif By next week I should get them. And I hate getting up to see the LED's at the back of the case.

Anyone has any ideas on what kind of transparent glass/plastic that is easily aavilable and cheap so that I could see the 4 LED lights. I'm thinking of LEGO pieces. Maybe something else if anyone has a better idea. And what is a bestter way to mount that lights firmly. here is the pic. I know I have to drill the floppy again. I was thinking of something square, but I don't have anything to do that.

FYI, you don't have to use UV relfctive items to get that UV effect. Red CCFL+blue lights from the tsunami casing works. Just make sure the CCFL not too bright.

The new Armor looks nice and has improvements in terms of design compared to Stacker. Siap got holes for looping the WC set. The only thing is that it's heavy and and there's no rollers stanndard (Trust me, you do not want to carry a tower casing to a LAN party)

something new there?
so the rocket looks like those water filters to me. I thought someone copied the KLCC tower/dayabumi building tongue.gif

and another new product

http://www.thermaltake.com/coolers/4in1hea...on/cl-p0114.htm

I am not sure this type of design will work

I thought about changing casing so long but never had the chance. Dont know what to do with the old one either.

Tsunami vs the new Soprano, which is better? I believe Soprano is tool-less installation right? Can anyone let me know the price for Soprano? Lyp.net price please as I live in S'gor.

Grr... Well well, wat a suprise while no one answering this... aha... nvm...
let try this:
I already have a XaserBag and i'm wondering... could it support XaserV 5000A, uhmm.. the chassis is already 16KG while these bag's max loading weight is juz 66 lbs (30 kg)±4lbs. According to my counting, the weight of my pc is already 27 plus all the cds n etc, oh man, it's already halp of my weight! shakehead.gif shakehead.gif shakehead.gif Oh ya, dun laught, i know i'm 'slim' wakaka... sweat.gif

I am not sure the bag can lift 16kg+whatever you place inside it, which will be near or more 20kg. But if you say max 30kg, than its ok.

Sometimes I wish it this tsunami 1kg, cause 6kg plus everything I place inside now more than 10kg.

If you got a free optical bay, iyou can hide some there. Also there is an opening next to the PSU bay, you can bring in small wires there. I believe everything except the mobo 24-pin plug can be pulled there. Also nothice that bar that crosses from front to back, you can see from outside, the PSU it on it, there is a space there, you can drag some cables whichever you think you need. Then its just a matter going over that rear 12cm fan, and some cellophane tape will work, and will not be noticed. When I have time, I'll try to drill some holes on the mobo tray, and try to pull the IDE wires, and all other junk. Actually my wires are very cluttered, just a matter of not noticing it. I got a hardcano 12, more wires.
Another thing is below the removable hd area, there is a small space, good for IDE wires, and other junk you want to hide. Also the back of the tray, where to power to the front panels go, there is lots of space for manipulation. Also save those metal-plastic wire tying things when you buy stuff. Come in great use. For the other wires, its just a matter of making origami shapes sweat.gif and compacting at the drive. Will not work with rounded cables. I think thats it.
Mine is still messy... laugh.gif

shark ownwers; how does the hd bays get cooled? I don't see any fan like the Tsunami. And it is sideways. Another question, what is the headspace of the door and the front panels? In tsunami its from 2" to less than 1cm.

hehe...nvm... hmm... barton 2500+ running at 'standard' o/c 200x11@2.2Ghz...load at 45C... not load at 37C...

yup... the fan airflow facing the psu... but since psu got 2 fans, one at the bottom facing straight at it, so it's ok i think...

now thinking of 'modding' the 'fan holder' facing the back of the casing... can't change the heatsink cos the cpu socket facing upwards... weird eh? anyone hv any experience using this tower112 can share their 'setup'? notworthy.gif thumbup.gif

Hi guys, am using dinosaur age Xaser II. Need an advice, is it possible to swap the 2 x 8cm fan at the back of the casing with 1 x 12cm fan (wish to reduce the noise level). I know there's no fan holder or anything that I could fit the 12cm. Just wish to know if anyone here had managed to do the mod. Thanks guys smile.gif.

i don't think there's anything you can do. as you can see, the tsunami dream side window is not made of glass, it is actually plastic. please no not use newspaper and wipe because you will find scratches all over it. i've tried it and in the end i have to give the unit away and buy a new one.

if there is oily spot (most probably on black units) use a little bit of dish washing soap on a cloth and wipe, then use a wet cloth to wipe away the soap and in the end use a dry lint free cloth to wipe it dry. i do that all the time and don't worry, there won't be any scratches.

not really nice if u didn't put extra 120mm fan. i put chapalang 120mm fan, the fan i can say have very low cmf(i dunno how many cmf) but i believe its lower than other 120mm fan. (later wanna buy 120mm fan again)

idle dunno coz never idle but sure its below 40c, load (folding) around 48-51c.
note: i oc my cpu. vcore from 1.4v to 1.66v

btw, just now i change to pipe101 again with 92mm TT fan, just wanna try. hehe..
almost no different in performance.

a bit of of topic here, but has thermaltake made any chasis that can accept a

1- 120mm fan for the front
2- 120mm fan for the rear
3- 120mm fan for the side
4- a blowhole
5 - removable mobo tray

i'm currently in love with the Thermalrock OceanDome Chasis, but i want to a chasis that can accept bigger fans in case if i decide to do overclocking. i'm torn between getting an oceandome and the lian li warrior.

both are good but i like the oceandome chasis cause it looks cooler.

well hope someone can help me with my buying dilemma

no mod at all..
the switch is originaly like that, its sunbeam dual white ccfl with inverter. I just put it in front bay & also I didn't cut or make a hole in TT controller plat.
u see the the small gap between fan controller & dvd drive, i put the cable there & the ccfl inverter is below the fdd drive.

later wanna buy fan grill for my cpu fan & also for side panel fan, scared my finger will hurt again, coz just now my finger accidentally touch cpu fan & it's pain... (stupid me) tongue.gif

Yes, why not. I've seen someone used koolance with tsunami, though the koolance was at the side, not on top.

I've been a part since the inception of the first Tt league, which got lost due to a server change and hence this current thread is actually the second one. laugh.gif sotr had a laugh out of that lol.

But it's time to move on and my Tt is now up for sale. smile.gif So if anyone wants an old school Xaser2 which IMO looks better than any of the newer funky Xaser3-5 nonsense, contact me. wink.gif

it all depands on you actually, in terms of airflow, both of the casings are about the same...but if you plan to go water cooling in the future, shark is the way to go...

for the function panel, i think thermaltake hardcano would b a better choice since the coolermaster 1 cannot totally turn off the fan... smile.gif

Buy mine lor. Can control up to 4 FAN also. LIS2 from uglyvamp. I've modded it a little. removed the original front acrylic and replace with a new one without the company's brand. But one thing i should tell u la, the original acrylic that shipped to me damn bad the condition, full of scratches. shakehead.gif

I bought it for 235.
