Incorrect.

There are certain stocks and options that have higher beta than the DJIA, SPX. Yesterday DJIA up 0.5%, but my stock went up 25%, which covered my this week losses and plus a very handsome profit.

OF course, it's not an imperfect hedge because i am more bullish in my stocks than i was in EU. Hence, my short on EU was 3 lots, but my stocks which i contra was 4000 - 5000 shares each time i purchased.

I never use stops, because i m pretty good in analyzing my charts. So far i have always won more than i lost, without using any SLs.

what do u mean use stocks and options to hedge against your losses?
It means that when you profit at forex, you lose at stocks and options and vice versa right?

Isn't this a zero-sum game where both profits and losses will be canceled and balanced out?

Mine also.. Micro live account hehe

I haven't traded this week due to lagging problem.
FXCM says it's Malaysia related issue since a lot of people from Malaysia have complained already.
In fact, it's a streamyx issue. All the streamyx users suffer from it..
The traceroute to fxcm has many timeouts in between

Streamyx is useless for FXCM. If you want better connectivity, try Celcom broadband. I am using it at the moment and the refresh rate is much better now. It will cost you RM68 /month, but I think it is worth it.

Please use those platforms that are simple and not so java oriented.

Of course noobs shouldnt be trading without SL. For my case, if i lose, i always make sure i have an exit plan to regain what i lost.

Added on May 3, 2009, 2:49 pmHowever, the problem with noobs is the relunctancy to admit his/her mistakes. Like for myself, when i see things going wrong, i cut loss immediately and getting ready to execute my exit plan. Those who trade often enough should be thinking this way too.

If it touches my SL, what's my exit plan? What can i do to hedge against my losses?

God gave us a brain, and most of us don't use it.

IMHO, not putting stoplosses (that is having a flexible exit point) is far better than having stoplosses. But i think putting or not putting stoplosses depends on the individual. Some people had more discipline than other. Some are more relax(they are able to think without fear/hope interfering their judgement.)
For some people like me, i got to put stoploss is a must, cos i tend to revert into hope, everytime a position is losing, reanalysing over and over and keeping the trades, banking on false hopes.

Change broker because your broadband connection is bad for accessing your broker website? In another country, you should change your broadband provider(the culprit). In Malaysia, I suggest you subscribe to a wireless broadband provider as a backup.

BNM doesnt allow IBs in forex trading which includes buying/selling gold derivatives.

Agreed! No stoploss for me too at all if you guys did a good job in your own method, just like what AdamG1981 bro said hedge back from stock & options but i'm not hedge from stock, i hedge from forex's loss by forex's profit but i'm not using hedging method. I just use not more than 20min per day in front of my pc.
