hie guys,
Been looking around google which tailor custom the good n affordable suits..
Thank god Lowyat has it!

I wanted to make 2 suits for my "special day" biggrin.gif
Found bespoke at 1U seems highly recommended by other forum where another 1 call Sparkmanshop too where it charges slightly cheaper compare to bespoke.

Which service and workmanship is good? and it not too exp?
Might 1 2 get 1 for ROM and another one for dinner functions.

Does single breasted suit look nicer? i totally have no idea of choosing suit and the material i should get....

Guys pls enlighten me

Thanks alot!

yo guys... for those looking for affordable tailor to make ur suits, i have 1 to recommend.  it's Gent's Attire at Sea Park PJ.

they charge about RM850 for mixed blend wool (mostly from jap fabric) and RM 1250 for high quality wools imported from england or italy.

you have a wide variety of fabric to choose from. and i'm currently making my 2nd suit there.

for sure the materials used are not like those u get in granoff or lords or watever famous one, but this tailor has more than 25 years of exp in making suits so just bring the photo of the suit u want and tell him to follow. i asked for slim fit for my first suit and it turned out exactly what i wanted.

they also offered to alter my first slack as i feel it's a bit too tight after 3 months. FOC yeah... that's y i am happy and i feel thier after sales service is good.

IMO, you don't necessary have to go for those super duper famous suit makers to make ur suit, but some lower budgets ones can deliver just what you wanted provided u give the right instructions and be certain of the changes you need when you are doing the 2nd fitting.

cheerios....

wow i was thinking to hop around for suits where i have visited Bespoke 1u..1 set of suit cost around RM2k i think is slightly exp....
n i dont have options to see the design that i like... coz most of the time i browse through the magazine and though i was able to be nice on the suit...but u never know how does it look on u....headache...

So, anywhere theres some sample of suit i can try before i decide the design of the suit..?

Gents Attire @ Sea Park not that far away..i could pop down n have a look bro...do u have the address? how long does it take to complete the suit?

I really have no idea where i should do my suit.... rclxub.gif
Sparkmanshop/Bespke 1U?......im loss

hie guys,

Plan to get my MTM suit done in March.
So far i haven have any idea what to make or which design to go for.
Practically, there's many types of material to choose....
Most commonly the tailor will reckon Mixed wool....i think for rm1350?

I checked with:

Spark Manshop 1U: Mixed wool RM1350
Tux & Blazer 1U: Mixed Wool RM1300
Bespoke by Ian Chang: Mixed wool RM1350 (they seems professional)

Last place i heard that PJ Paramount there is a affordable tailor call "Gents Attire". Cant really get any reviews from the net.

Anyway,
Any recommendations for 1 set of suits to be MTM?
Where is the best and affortable place to get it done?

THanks alot!

Boy, I want you to look at that shop, just look at it. Does it look like a place from which great suits would come forth? Does it?

Hie kotmj,

I dont really like to go in nor trying to convince myself to get the suit from there but i wonder where i got this contact from? lowyat or malaysia brides forum? then i try to search for this place and realize is so "........." "interesting place best word to use. (Since this is the first time i visit this place)

Currently, i still prefer Bespoke Ing Chang where he share alot of ideas on dressing/ Matching but the price abit at the high side... hmm.gif
but he is professional biggrin.gif

Well, where's mohair anyway? heard Curve there is one MTM tailor quite good too? Any contacts and price to share with?

Thanks alot folks!

Hie guys, i have a few question to ask. Im planning to MTM 1 set of suit for my "big day"
Till now i still dont have an idea what i should make.
I cant backtrack total 107 pages blush.gif but i did glance through a few pages back.

Im not a tall guy about 165, was wondering should i make something normal (working attire type?)

(Single-breasted suits: This is the basic style. Most suits are single breasted. Usually there is a choice of two or three buttons for single-breasted suits. The front buttons on the suits are in a single straight row.)

or something like this? Tux? Im afraid the bow tie doesn't suit me~~

(Sorry snap from Men's Mag spotted just now)

I love this design..is this too common for special event?

Black tie Event...i wonder is too plain? it looks like a "Wing Coller"

Some example:

Too plain?

Btw, My theme colour
(Event 1) My Fiance colour- Royal Blue (Black Suit + Royal Blue Vest + Gold Cravat?? Or what combination should i choose?)
(Event 2) My Fiance colour- Red (Black Suit + No idea)
2nd Event is kind of small...dont intend to spend so much on vest (rm400) for different colours ..what should i match/play with it?

My Nuptial Blessing will be either the Black tie event or any suggestion?

Thanks for all the input given. Appreciate all kinds of feedback.
Budget: Mix wool/ Wool not exceed total rm2k for everything (Event 1 & 2)

Currently aiming: 1U Bespoke Ian Chang

if you read the previous 50 pages, you can save yourself rm800.

Hi kotmj,

Been reading back page 48- 76 now. Cant really find the post u mentioned that can save rm800 hmm.gif
but im going to do a suit with this pattern "I wonder who's banging her. Lucky basterd." where i posted earlier (Event in red)

So what i should note for when dealing with Bespoke 1U?
Heard quite a good feedback with Ian/ Jerrick.....plan to get something around 2k where the suit will not be wear it often too.

A mixed wool will be good enough?

Thanks

hie guys guess im going to get my suit done at Ian Chang @1U
I was thinking a few options to make it best fitting for the first suit.
As what kotmj recommended back there was quite useful information.
Plan to aim the hourglass look.. but this question pop out.

1) A notched lapel or A peaked lapel?
2) What is called the suit where the back of the of the portion is cut into 2 linings for ease of sitting down?

Sorry i forgot the name. I was thinking to have it or without the linings..

Thanks

@Vengeance_Mad

Thanks for your feedback.

Act is for my Wedding Suit" so it should be formal attire.

Anyway i will head down to Bespoke on this coming Friday to get my suit done.
I'm still scratching my head thinking what colour of suit i should choose and the cut.

Here are some of the pics that i was thinking to make.

user posted image
The same old Hot Chick Suit. I like the colour matching (im having a blue & Red Event) but is a shawl lapel. Should i change it to peak/notched lapel? (Why most of the suit is Notched lapel? a new trend?)

user posted image
Taylor Lautner wearing the suit kind of shinny. What material is that? is this appropriate for a wedding dinner?

user posted image
Yet another shinny material though. From the pic it seems like a shawl lapel. I like the length of the cuff that able to see the shirt.
Usually what is the measurement of cut for the shirt to show the cuff? 1" or 0.75"

Im open for suggestion

Thanks!

wow kotmj u seems to be the "master" in customizing suit smile.gif Salute to that.

Im kind of nervous for tomorrow measurement at Bespoke...
Scared im going to be worry by the sweet talk and exp price there without the knowledge of cloth material. (i know mix wool cost rm1350 for 3 pieces, Full wool RM1850 if the price still valid)

poly blend hmm....i though is better to have mixed wool rather than poly
Got the tip, "pick stitching" will refer to Jerrick.

Sorry to re quote your customized measurement kotmj

MEASUREMENT

1. Tell him you want it "very waisted", with "skirt flare". "Waisted" and "flare" are words he understands.

2. High gorge. If you do not specify a high gorge you get a low gorge.

3. Very, very high armholes

4. "Somewhat slanting pockets". "Somewhat" is important else you get radically slanting ones.

5. Slanting shoulders. Otherwise you get horizontal shoulders.

6. Clean, clean back. He doesn't pay the back much attention and you will have to insist on this.

7. Ask for lapel padding. If not, you get a single machine stitched line on the underside of lapel.

8. Open quarters. Specify how open.

9. Low button stance. He likes the button high, and he will fight you if you want them lower. Do not give in.

Probably will use yours as references. smile.gif
