well basically i went around and the cheapest tailor i can find is RM650, and he is practically an "unknown" tailor, other places like Bespoked and Lords Tailor and Granoff charge RM1000 for their services, so i think RM800 in general is pretty okay..
i've not confirmed who i want to select to tailor my suit.. the tailor's name in Biswani's Curve is Rashidi.. he's recommended by fellow lyn mate silver2c.. hmmm jalan TAR eh.. do they have more varieties or better tailors?
*
Jalan TAR has less choices and over there is more marketed for ladies rather than gents. Rashidi is a good tailor and he is quite creative, He design my wedding suit and it was one of the best suit I ever tailored!! though it cost me a bomb!! they have some nice fabrics from Scabal and Zegna especially the shirt material

let's say those 2 brands also doesnt cut it for me...
are there any tailor shops costing around 1k?

Plenty of tailir shops, that can customise a suit for you around 1K, you can try euro moda during sale time when some of the fabric will go up to 80% off.

here's my latest acquisition from a most hated tailor on this forum, Bespoked smile.gif

my regular tailor there is actually Jerrick (i don't use Ian Chang). Jerrick's done quite a lot of my wardrobe for close to a decade so he's very familiar with my tastes and also the cutting i favour.

anyway, it took me a month... but here it is now, my new sports jacket made with a wool/linen blend. half canvassed, half lined, double vented, working cuffs. just collected it just now and i simply love it. especially love the viscose lining.

nah. nothing else until next year at least. though i'd like some nice shirts - maybe a pink one.

I was in Damansara Perdana and I came across this tailor in THE PLACE (office suites), he seems to carry some nice material for shirts and prices quite reasonable and his work seems good(samples from others ) why not drop by and browse who knows you might like something

That's OK. RM800 is for those who walk in and say "make me a suit". They'll get quality and features as is usual among most tailors. Those who want their sleeveheads rotated just right, working cuffs, horn buttons, better linings, etc. would naturally have to pay more. Binwani's makes no illusions to being some sort of a bespoke Savile Row tailoring house with 250 years of continuous operations. They charge standard prices for standard work and premium prices for premium work. Unlike some shops which charge premium prices for very unexceptional work and has surcharges for additional features.

I agree with what u said(in Bold) unfortunately their standard has drop, I have been their customer for the past 12 years or so and I have seen many tailors come and go in Binwani's. The current tailor Rashidi I believe is one of the best they ever got, unfortunately like any other companies they have also succumb to the economic downturn and they have started to outsourced their tailors and this is a huge let down as the quality of the end product is not what it used to be. They have lost a lot of regular customer due to this as their end product is no diffrence from those tailors in Bangkok. I hope this will change in the near future and they start making qulity instead of quantity.
