Hi everyone, i am looking to buy myself my first suit.

My build is only 165 cm and 55kg in weight. Really small skinny.

Thing is i want to get a suit done in 4 days because i really want to make an impression for this occasion. Is it possible?

If i buy off the rack, is it possible to get a fit? I see alot of people recommending Zara and Topman.

Please help  icon_question.gif

You may try Topman, look for skinny fit, size 36. It should fit you snugly. Size 34 will be too tight for you.

Good news is Topman is having sales now. You may find a bargain there.

1) Is ur suit for formal occasion or more to casual. Peaked for formal, notched for casual. (That's my personal pick though)
2) It's called venting. I've open 1 thread here regarding the preferences on suits venting.
There are single vent, double vent(side vent) and ventless.

For formal, go double vent or ventless. For casual, single vent is good.(Also my personal pick though)

Outdated? The suit will look great given that you have the proper physique to flaunt the cut of a ventless suit. It's just that the population nowadays are plague with bulging bellies.

don't get me wrong. i read from somewhere that 'one must not commission a ventless suit; a big no-no'.

as a matter of fact, all my suits are ventless. however i find them to be impractical especially when i take a seat.

Impractical they may be when you reach for your pants pockets or when rest your bottom, they do have an amazing silhouette. I previously owned one in taupe colour and the hourglass figure it gave me (even though with minimal waist suppression) was marvelous. You'll have to make the call yourself in balancing practicality and look but since all your suits are ventless, well, I guess it's time to look for a vented one.

With regards to what you have read, I believe that it came from GQ if I'm not mistaken. And the thing is, their fashion advices always changes according to trends - one season they might ask you to do this and the next season you'll be asked to do the opposite. Some gents here stick to timeless style (like kotmj and calvinloke) and some chase after the latest trends. There're also 'in-betweeners' like me and maybe jind.

not only GQ, in fact most of the fashion magazines utter likewise. i accede with you that one must not always abide to trend; it is the timeless style that one must seek.

by asking the question, it made me an 'in betweener' as well.
