Hi guys, I'm going to UK next week.

My question is:
Should i buy an iPhone 3G from there?

iPhone from UK is locked, so cheaper. And the Dev Team has announced that Software Unlock iPhone 3G is coming out soon. But i scare it doesn't work...

So should i buy an iPhone 3G from there and hoping the Dev Team's software unlock works or wait for the iphone 3G to reach Malaysia???

It's not worth the hassle, despite the dev team announcing a possible software unlock. Each time a new firmware update is released, it'll most probably break the unlock. Playing cat and mouse is so yesterday.

Good news then but still a big problem when upgrading firmware lor. If TS wants, then enjoy your headache. Just don't come complaining that he should have bought an oficial unlock unit.

I think is the true fact. Seriously.

If everyone is ahead and keep abreast of what's happening to the iphone community around the world, will people ask weird questions ka like can buy US/UK phone la, How to jailbreak la?

Seriously if you think about it, how did Maverick, nokia2003, davidgary73 and many more can find so much of info for us while some just arren't able too? They just like us also ma...

I also got blow by what they post on the pinned thread. So i read kau kau..

So wht does it say about people opening new thread? Not obvious enough that they don't read pinned thread or read available threads for this kinda matter?

Live and let live fellow forumers. There are all sorts of people in this world of ours and that's why it is in the state that it is in.

Just like the movies or anything for that matter, if you don't like don't go and watch it or in this case try (sometimes difficult I know) to ignore it unless of course you are willing to see past it and give some advice constructively.

This small gesture on our part helps alleviate 'wars'. Cheers.

but now since the phone can be unlock using yellosno then it doesn't matter if the phone is locked, rite?

May i know is there any different for the phone behaviour for officailly unlocked and software unlocked?

let me tell you my side of the story (and therefore may not necessarily reflect what others may think):

1. i despise waiting for the dev team to provide me with an alternative solution/customised firmware each time a new one comes up; i wanna update my firmware the minute that it is been released by apple (to satisfy my kiasu appetite) . furthermore apple has never failed to surprise me with fascinating new features and bug fixes each time an update comes around.

2. yellowsn0w users have been experiencing weak network signal and not to mention slower 3G/edge speeds; i hate screaming my lungs out so that the other party can hear me and vice versa and not to mention even slower than the-already-slow 3G network in this country.

3. i may not be from a well to do family, but i refuse to be a cheapskate opting for a below par product.
