Just adopted 2 Roborovski hamsters~ about 4 months old. They really can run fast! And very active too. They try very hard to wriggle free from the hand grip. SO it'll be a challenge to play with them, unlike those WW and other species.

Hi all.... I'm wondering, is there any lubricants that can help on the running wheels? It's really making a lot of noise. The effect is even worst when it is at night..

I just came back from a movie and found the smaller robos sibling of the 2, had a bad scratch on its back. Red scratches and when I took it up to touch it, the patch were rough. I think the blood clot dried. I think they had a bad fight.
Now, how can I help it? Can apply any antiseptic (got such thing?) ? Where can I buy it? Now I really need to separate them both. Gonna be expensive. Another water bottle. Another running wheel. ANother bathing sand box. It was weird. I frequently see them sleeping side by side. So sweet. And they can ended up in a bloody fight. My 2 robos siblings are about 5 months old. |

QUOTE(angelbratz @ Feb 18 2009, 10:18 AM) Info Update, My hamster got the same thing as yours. It was the result of a fight. The skin was scratched, then got infected with puss. Hardened skin and darkened. I didn't manage to take it to the Vet and it died a few days later. The Hammie Very active, No eating problems, no lost of appetite, likes to go sand bathing. After investigating myself, i found out the bottom is dry, not wet, got like crystal Clear thinggy (like your wound Hardened). But it looks like she giving birth or something @.@. But i dont think thats the exit for the baby rite? But but....how can she get a tumor or a something? Cage is clean, environment not hazardous I will bring it to the vet tho. Usually cases like this how much would it cost me? Gotto prepare the moolah, just in case. I always thought hamster should be alone? If having 2 together, wouldn't they will fight?i would like to gather the ovo user, to share their experience about the ovo This post has been edited by pikeydude: Feb 18 2009, 11:22 PM |
