Added on July 4, 2009, 12:33 amAny1 knw whether midvalley got selling wheel for syrians?
*
Midvalley don't have. Better buy suitable wheel for her as she can grow really well if you feed her with good food. Get Wodent wheel or Sanko wheel for her. Wodent can get from PS and Sanko can get in PLC Sunway Pyramid. Spend a bit more at the first time for a good wheel rather than keep buying cheap wheel. You can sleep well with this wheels. rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif My extra wheel need to keep first in case I have more hamsters coming up. sweat.gif

@blurjoey Gestation peroid is how long? 16 days? I hope jack jack is not shooting blanks tongue.gif
*
Sorry to heard about Tiny.

We also dunno whether JackJack is 'contributing' or not as he is an old man now. blush.gif blush.gif But we'll try again and again. Gestation period for Syrians is 15-17 days, now is already almost 1 month already, don't think they will produce anything this time. They looks like pregnant as they really gain weight within a week and more weight the 2nd week, but nothing is out. sad.gif Just worried they can't deliver the babies and the contents reabsorb back to their body although its not harmful for them, but no babies... cry.gif

Cos I left my window open during noon..made my room quite hot...worried...is this temporary because of the heat..or something serious?

Memory of JackJack the Cinnamon banded long hair boy.

Dear JackJack,

I'm so sorry I'm not being around when you taking your last breath but I know you are a brave boy and you'll walking across the rainbow bridge looking back to us with a smile on your face. We want to thank you for giving us great time and lots of good memories since you came to our family. You are the first syrian I've ever had, your cuteness make us fall in love with syrians and therefore we started to get crazy getting more and more members into our family. You are just so tame and never ever bite anyone in your whole life no matter who carry you or touch you. I've so many pictures flashing back on my mind right now. I know we gonna miss you but we happy and glad that you are not suffer and you are leaving us in your dreams. Please take care of yourself and tell the other friends who are waiting for you at the other half of the rainbow bridge, "I miss them, take good care till we meet again." I promise I'll stop crying and you promise me you'll be good over there, ok?

Good bye and R.I.P, my JackJack boy!

From what I've learn from a sifu to make my syrians braver, take out everything especially hideout and let them be in the tank. You can put your hand inside to let it get used to your smell, or your can put your head inside the tank when you talk to it so that it can recognize your voice and won't afraid of noise. My hamster tamer after I do this for 1 week. But if your hamster is a new comer, let it be alone for about 3-5 days before start taming to avoid stress it out. Hope this will help. smile.gif

she's already be with me for about 5 month. she will get out when i offer her treats or its time for her to come and get her food. after taking all the food from my hand, she will head back into her hideout and eat in there all continue sleeping  sweat.gif
i think i will try this, taking her hideout out, let only her exercise wheel and water bottle and her toilet (she's toilet train though  rclxms.gif )
should i put her on my table so that he can get use of my movement?? she's sometimes startle when i make a sudden movement in front of her, i need to move very slowly everytime i approach her or else she will be like going to jump out of the cage  tongue.gif
*
Take out the wheel also. Just left food and water bottle. Take everything out when you are around in the house. Let him get used to people and noise to make him brave. Good luck to you. smile.gif

Beware of feeding special food for your small animal. Durians contain very high sugar level as it will not a good choice of food for them. smile.gif

my hamster's nose bleed. don't know why?
is it becuz of the hot weather?
what can I do about it?  icon_question.gif
She looks fine.
It had already dried when I saw it.
*
Are u using bar cage? It can bleed due to the biting of the bar cage as their nose is stuck in between the bars when they are biting the bars and it traumatized their nose.

Need some advice :- how to get rid of the ants from the hamster cage or food? Mostly i cleaned up my table  and suddenly dunno where da heck ant come from... blink.gif
*
1) Buy ants powder to put nearby outside the cage.

2) Elevate ur cage and put Vaseline around the thing that u use to elevate ur cage. This is to cover up the scent and make the path oily for the ants so that they can't reach the cage.

Anything she might be biting? Like the water bottle holes, the corners of the tank. My syrians did that before.

hmm..not sure about it.
nothing much in her house actually.
Just know that she likes to bite the wooden wheel's stand.. sweat.gif

If its already dried up, nothing much to worry about then. Just check the corners see if there's any scratched marks. They'll try to bite and bite even there's nothing for them to bite.

tjose are Fischer cages...and i i've seen them in many shops! i hate those cages...the ventilation is very poor too...as your syrians grow they'll get stuck in the tubes.
*
QUOTE(noobtank @ Jul 21 2009, 01:35 PM)
Oh...sad face again  sad.gif ....Let say, if I can remove the cone from the cages and replace the wheels also..and closed the tube when they grown big, could that be okay? Well, I was saving up to buy a syrian but dunno this could be happened  sad.gif  ( no money right now to buy 2 feet plastic tank lol ) oh right, its actually 2 in that cages ( both female...i could'nt imagine if they both fight when they get big....usually that happened for male only lol )
*
I don't think you need to worry about the size of the syrian as they can hardly grow big cos there's no space for them to grow. They can hardly walk freely inside the cage also even with 1 of it inside, what to say with 2 of it? rclxub.gif

You no need to imagine that as they will fight and you'll see it. Maybe with that, one of them have no chance to grow big also. shakehead.gif

p/s: Maybe you are someone who are very positive ans love to smile or laugh, but I think you should be serious when you are dealing with something alive cos it is a LIFE, nothing there is so funny till you wanna LOL (Laugh Out Loud). icon_rolleyes.gif

Sorry to hear it..
Maybe it caused of diarrhea... Wat are u feeding em??
Maybe too much veggies or sweet fruit..How long they bcomes like that bfore die (exhausted and his bottom part wet wet) ??
*
Wet tail can be very contagious, you must be putting them together before your first hammy died. That's why now the other also have the same thing. They can died within 24 hours without treatment for wet tail. If you wanna save your hammy, go now to the vet with your hammy before it's too late.
