You can try Dr Jenny at Hand&Paws.

Make it asap. It can spread very very fast.

No harm getting second vet advice.

use ants powder~~~ It's really effective..Last time i put once when i move into the room, until now i never see a single ant in my room.. biggrin.gif

I would suggest u move the cage out, then put the powder on ur room, around those places/holes that ants always crawl.. then leave it for 2 days... then clean the whole room, make sure u wipe everything off..

after tat only shift the cage back to cage.

my suggestion will be separate them now.

They are solitairy animal in nature. Puting them together actually are against their nature and it's stressful.

So, for u, u perceive as they staying happily. For them, mayb they are so afraid and feeling stress all day long.

If 38.50 is too expensive for u, get a 2feet glass tank..cheaper...25-28.50 u can get one already.

Even if you remove the 'wheel' and tubes, the cage is still way too small for syrian.

Hardly put a proper 8'' wheel inside also.

Is that a syrian?

If it's really a syrian, i think the mushroom water bottle not really good for them to use right. The hole too small for them to put their head in and drink..

If people never research, you wont hav handphones, color tv, air planes, light bulb, electricity, internet and every other things to use now.

Use mind? By using ur mind u would noe automatically how to keep a hamster healthily?

Everyone in here are to learn and share experience and knowledge.

What makes you think we are not able to understand animal? Yes, we might not understand FULLY but at least you would noe the most basic needs of them.

Not to degrade hamster, but human and hamster are totally different creatures. Hamster are much simple if u compare to high complexity animal such as human.

We might not fully understand the animal, at least we took initiative to study and learn, but not being ignorance and stubborn.

Low fat/ plain yogurt contains cultures tat actually convert lactose to lactic acid..therefore they can still tolerate since the lactose level has gone down.

Bear in mind that there are some yogurt doest contain any cultures. Such as frozen yogurt.

Those are symptoms of wet tail.. Bring to vet asap.

Even if u don house them together, the virus can still spread when they jus contact for a while or the cage are near...

U jus got them? from same place?

Eric,long time din c u in here tongue.gif

So actually the reason wet-tail can cause fatality in hamsters is bcos the greatly loss of moisture inside the hamster's body eh?
*
It's actually an infection in body, lead to diarrhea..then lead to dehydration then die..

There are few possibility to get this..could be stress, bad housing environment (now or previous petshop)....

And it can spread very fast from one hammie to the another one..

Dry tail selling in petshop usually doesnt help, go to vet is the best solution.

Sunway petstore? u mean petshack or PLC?

Vitakraft high premium?? if yes, then cant be diet prob. Because we all feeding it now..

Now u dono is diarrhea or wet tail..if wet tail then is intestinal infection, and causes can be stress...

If is diarrhea, could be u feeding too much fresh food...some hammie cant take large amount fresh food...different hammie has different level of tolerating fresh...

like my hermes, he is extremely fine with fresh.. i give a lot he also never diarrhea..
