Want to know for Gundam Skeleton which color to use? What's the difference between Steel & Metal Black? Last time i used 1 and mix with black to make it darker.

Also what's the difference between Super Clear & Top Coat as both have Gloss, semi-gloss & flat. Super Clear is much bigger than Top Coat.

Same question goes for Mr.Surfacer White 1000 & Mr.White Base 1000

All the while I have this mind set that Robot Models (mainly Gundam) should be finished FLAT as most of the modellers work I have seen uses Flat finishing which gives a more statue like feel, the Glossy finishing models I have seen frankly speaking looks abit "Oily & not as solid".

However looking at some Gundam Chogokin, where the finishing are mainly Glossy & Semi Gloss with certain parts flat, i find they actually look quite good, like other Chogokins.

Maybe I have yet seen good glossy model works, but would like to know is it possible to paint models like those Chogokin, looks nice & solid yet doesn't give an "Oily" impression?

I always get mixed up with the standard procedure when it comes to removing the lines & spraying top coats.

I mean most people spray the parts before assembling so how do you remove the lines where you have to assemble it? The only way i can think of is cut the connectors and do a soft assembling, remove the lines and paint the parts, then use glue to stick the parts together, but that is really troublesome.

Also regarding the top coat, do you spray them when the robot is assembled or part by part? As the easiest way is spray them assembled but there are parts where you don't want the top coat to reach and it would be uneven as when it comes to tight places.

I bought the original MG Nu Gundam, it came with a leaflet showing us how to Paint the SAZABI metallic red.

1st you need to buy those metallic primers, looks abit silverish, do a few layers and sand it properly using high number sand paper. Then you spray Semi Transparent Red (where you use on car model brake lights) on top of the primer. Then finally you spray a few layers of glossy top coat and job done!

Was really tempted to buy the Sazabi MG kit, but the price locally is too expensive and too heavy to ship from overseas.

Then came metallic coating version, but I don't know how they look like haven't seen the actual thing in person.

The HG Sazabi is puny. How to fight my MG Nu Gundam?

But seems I got 1 simple assembly Sazabi, the size is about same as 1/100, stands like a normal 1/60 PG Gundams. It comes with individual funnels, and the usual weapons. I forgot what series it was but it requires abit of simple assembly. Not very expensive too.

Well, just in case you want to know... the old MG Sazabi is pretty notorious regarding it's proportions and articulation. Not forgetting the massive price tag as well. Here's some reviews that you might want to read first before buying the MG.

But you can choose whatever version you like tongue.gif Sazabi >>>>> Nu rclxm9.gif

Anyway, dalong.net reviews the GMver2.0... sweet.

Added on March 11, 2009, 8:54 pmThe metallic sazabi looks pretty neat. The paint job is better than previous metallics.

Just curious the cutting edge, are they exposed or hidden like Hyaku Shiki? Coz if exposed we need to do some touch up on the chipped points.

Ultimately I would like to do my own Metallic Sazabi, but my current skill's not good enough for it.
