No, it's REALLY Unlocked - for firmware v2.1 at least.... (Does not work for v 2.2... YET)

If anyone is thinking of buying a turbosim/hypersim - wait 2 weeks for the true unlocking ceremony

hahaha, its a good news then.....lol now i can unlocked my brother 3g locked iphone then...

d unlock software still work on firmware 2.2.....but must be with old baseband...
meaning those who upgrade their i3g locked unit using pwnage tool......then it will maintain d old baseband...

but if upgrade using quickpwn n itune..... then santa will ask u to wait until d dev team find d solution to unlock the new baseband..

i'm on the verge of getting an official unlocked set next week. based on my gut feeling i will continue getting the official unlocked one...

there's still the issue of warranty. no receipt from singtel, no warranty.

My friend accidenly upgrade her 3g jb 8gb 2.1 to fw2.2. Now it's emergency call only. What can I do? Pls help.

Brother , Try Plug On your iPhone with your PC and then Open Itunes with Internet Connection....

is it a locked set or officially unlock set....

good news for officially unlocked set...after upgrade u just need to connect to itune and must have internet connection...

bad news if it is locked set.....ask your fren to get a sim unlocker that support firmware 2.2.......problem solved (how do your fren upgrade to fw2.2... if your fren use pwnage tool to upgrade, then wait for d dev team to come out with d software unlock in a couple of week. But if your fren upgraded using quickpwn or itune, then sim unlocker that support fw2.2 is d temporary solution and wait until d dev team release d solution for new 02.28.00 baseband)

what do u mean? Her phone now is emergency call only after upgrade to fw2.2 from iTunes. Before that hers is iPhone 3g 2.1 jailbroken. What to do now?

don't panic......give us more detail/.. unlocked set or locked set?

Unlocked set 2.1 jailbroken 3g

if it is unlocked set......ask your fren to plug d iphone 3g to d computer.....connect to internet...n launch itune.....
then itune will load up..and a message will pop up say that your iphone i unlocked.........

But she already upgrade the unlocked set to firmware 2.2 ? Is it a problem? I hvent try your method. Will your method work?

Just give it a try first bro..after finish updating u have to let the Iphone stay connected to Itunes with internet connection for the Iphone to be activated. Surely work if the Iphone is unlocked set.

sometime it will become like that, all you need to do is to restart the iphone and connect to itunes and it will ok after that( if the phone is unlocked unit) if not then the phone is locked unit phone,

as for the jailbroken phone,locked set phone also can be jailbreak but in order to make it use with local sim card, need to have turbosim or etc..


btw have you check the phone, it is really unlocked set or locked set base on its "product.?" number...
