A few random things I love about Islam:
1) It's concept, which is a reality, of the oneness of Allah. It makes such amazing sense and preserves the sanctity of God.
2) It's human moral values on subjects like forgiveness, peace, brotherhood, love and the list goes on and on!!
3) The things it has done for women. Never has a religion so beautifully given women their rightful place. Also related is the fact that how Allah made men and women equal but bestowed upon men superior physical vigour and hence made him the head of the family. A man remains a MAN as long as he fulfills his duties as the head of the family. And yet, Allah gave women the gift of giving birth. And aint nothing more beautiful in this world than women.
So this thread is for whom?
-Brothers and Sisters of Islam who wish to unite and discuss our Muslim lifestyle.
-Non-Muslims who wish to get to know more about Islam and Allah's teachings. So you peep are more than welcomed here
-Basically everyone LOL
OK let me lay down the rules before any one here posts.
1) Do not promote or push religious beliefs on to others, we have Malaysians of many different faiths and we ask that all believes be respected. Using this site to preach to, convert other members or to 'advertise' a belief system is disallowed. This applies to ANY religion.
2) Do not intentionally instigate "flame wars" or bait others in to making personal attacks
3) Refrain from replying in Malay. I know most Muslims here are Malays but me being a foreigner here, I don't speak the Malay language. Very sorry but this is also to encourage the non-Malays here.
FAQ
What is Jihad!?
Calm down, first of all Jihad literally means to strive for something, i.e work hard and to your best of ability, so everything muslims do is Jihad, whether it is helping the elderly or collecting Charity, or fighting your inner temptations or defending the helpless and weak.
Funny, how Muhammad(saw) is known as the Prophet of Mercy, when he was so kind even to his enemies.
Secondly, non of the things that are going on now can in any way shape or form be associated with Islam. Extremists have always been around and will always, the Prophet(saw) himself said that these are a people with no kindness in their hearts, they thrive on wars and bloodshed, he said that the if he was with us today, he would eliminate them all. Suicide is a no go in Islam, there is only damnation after that, no go going back!
If you're going to quote verses from the Quran that imply fighting and war for a cause, I'm answering you right now. Jihad is by all means encouraged in Islam. But the vital difference between Jihad and terrorism is that of defense and attack. An example I earlier showcased in a thread: Christina's song is FIGHTER, not ATTACKER. Islam encourages fight and defense if you are threatened. By no means Islam encourages attack unless for a valid reason such as tyrany of a people under a cruel lord. If the people want freedom from such a cruelty, Islam encourages its followers to fight for their rights
Allah
Allah is the standard Arabic word for "God".While the term is best known in the West for its use by Muslims as a reference to God, it is used by Arabic-speakers of all Abrahamic faiths, including Christians and Jews in reference to "God".
Muhammad is the only religious figure that can be proven to have existed, as because of his writings to kings, his belongings and his grave being present to this very day.
The name Muhammad literally means "Praiseworthy" and occurs four times in the Qur'an.
One in every five persons on this earth firmly believes that the Prophet Muhammad is the last Messenger of God. He was a Muslim and there are more than 1.3 billion(recorded) such Muslims today.
He was named the number one most Influencial man by numerous non-Muslims above Isaac, newston, Einstein and even Jesus for being a:
1) Philosopher
2) Orator,
3) Apostle,
4) Legislator,
5) Warrior,
6) Conqueror of ideas,
7) Restorer of rational dogmas,of a religion without images;
8) A Father
9) A Husband
10) The founder of twenty terrestrial empires and of one spiritual empire, that is Muhammad.

Polygamy
Under Shari'a - Islamic law - a man can marry up to four wives. He can divorce his wife or wives by saying “I divorce you” three times. For a wife to obtain a divorce is usually very difficult. Muslim apologists claim that Muslim women have the right to divorce and that in Islam the mother is revered and respected. Upon divorce, fathers win custody of boys over the age of six and girls on the onset of puberty. Many women would be reluctant to divorce violent or polygynous husbands for fear of losing their children. Despite the exaltation of motherhood - Mohammed once told a follower that paradise is found at the feet of the mother - children are considered the property of the father with the mother being merely the caretaker. How is it possible for a Muslim man to respect his mother when immutable religious law proclaims women's inferiority and inadequacy?
That Allah gave men the superiority of better physical strength and position of the head of family is unarguably sensible. Even in the western culture, it is men who head the family. That's how it works best. See it this way. Allah created two kinds in human beings: men and women who together complete each other. He made them both equal, yet gave them differenct characteristics. We have all heard that "Too many cooks spoil the broth" and that if there was more than one god than they would all end up fighting each other. Similarly the captain of a ship or army is always one person. Instead of viewing it as a superiority, people shuld view it as an added responsibility upon that person, one which if he is unable to conduct, he loses that superiority. So God just gave one of his two kinds of human beings, the post of the head of the family. We call that kind "men".
Before Islam the early people were cruel and unjust to women, they treated them like objects of mere desire, and often some of them went through hidious and unjust situations. To the point that they buried their duaghters alive.
Islam came to stop all of that, Allah gave the women honour once more and the rights that they so truthfully deserve. The veil is a beautiful thing, it ensures that the woman should be noticed for her personality and kindness and not for any physical traits.
