I am lazy to go through the whole thread. I am planning to buy a car next year. At first I choose Myvi but now I want BLM due to its' cheaper price. I want to ask few questions (might be repeated), hope can find some sincere answer here. Thanks.
1. Audio system come with USB port ? If no, any possibility to add on ?
2. Fuel saving or not? how much km/liter ?
3. Good for long distance run ?
4. Gearbox and auto window is really bad as rumors ?

AT or MT. Which one is good in term of fuel saving and engine performance ?
I am MT user all the time.

meantime, MT.walao eh..u want fuel saving and performance wise at the same time ar?so picky?how can u ask a normal saloon car to be fuel saving and fast at the same time.In Malaysia at that price, its impossible.
*
which means MT use fuel greater than AT ?

My friend bought his BLM and he said the engine motor is quite noisy. I sat at the back seat also heard it. But, once it ran longer, the sound went smooth. Maybe it was new car and the mileage is 42 only.

Added on January 11, 2009, 1:37 pmAnother question to ask, for new car like saga BLM, it can not run for long distance before mileage 1000 ? As according to myths, if new car runs for long distance before mileage 1k, the engine will get faulty easier.

Added on January 11, 2009, 1:39 pmoh yeah ... how can we know how many liter of fuel had been used ?

it is noisy..cuz this car no soundproof...that's why cheap
have to soundproof yourself
and yes, new car also 1 thing
before 1k...dn't do long distance but step hard!!
fill full tank and see how far u go
*
soundproof myself ? you mean use something to cover ear ? (that is funny doh.gif)
step hard means what ?

ya...yourself....either DIY or ask shop to do it
step hard mean step hard on the gas pedal...so that your car's engine more powerful and FC much better
I am unsure of what you said about "DIY"/ ask shop to do it ? Which part of the car can be soundproofed ?

QUOTE(MR_alien @ Jan 11 2009, 03:37 PM)
just go Automotive Garage at garage sales and search for soundproof and u will know
this car is cheap becuz it have almost no soundproof
the only part that have soundproof is the floor
other part like bonnet, door, trunk, fender, roof ..all have no soundproof
that's why the engine sound is noisy when u sit inside
that's why when u knock the door..it sound empty
that's why road noise and outside noise can be heard...door also cannot close like myvi
want to soundproof ...u need to go every shop to ask how much they charge, what material they use and how many layers they apply
or u can buy from garage sales and DIY at home...much cheaper

conclusion...the whole car can be soundproof to prevent sound...but will make the car more heavier
same theory like cinema soundproof their wall to avoid sound coming in and out
*
Oh ... !! Thanks for the info.
My friend asked me with his pale face : "Is this car engine contempt?".
I said: " Well. This is a new car below mileage 50 and it shall be with good engine." sweat.gif

I thought soundproof could have extra function. 1k is really "something", so I am expecting more functions than noise reduction.

QUOTE(MR_alien @ Jan 11 2009, 06:19 PM)
hmmm...not sure about that
if reduce impace...have to see how hard the body of the car
want harder...add some bar inside like race car but add at engine there where cannot see from outside....that sure will reduce imact of accident
*
ic ... manyak mahal for upgrading. no wonder they say buy a car is like marry a wife. sweat.gif

Oh yeah, thanks! .... at first, I thought soundproof is something like iron frame ... in fact, it is thick sticker. Am I right ?

Added on January 11, 2009, 6:43 pmThere are 6 bar on the fuel meter, so 1 bar means how many liter of fuel ?

its some sort of an extra layer with sound absorbing material that stick onto the metal...there are many types of soundproof material...such as dynamat, infulex....but normally normal soundproof will provide good effect.....try to google around auto garage , there are some forumers that sells soundproof material...areas that best for diy is the doors, front bonet and rear boot....other than that better send to shop.. tongue.gif
*
To reduce the engine noise, bonnet soundproof is enough, right? I think I will suggest my friend to do it DIY (as he is quite free), roughly around what price for good quality of soundproof ?

QUOTE(nazri86a @ Jan 11 2009, 06:47 PM)
average 1 bar can last for 90km-100km.... but the last bar can tahan about 70km before your car cannot start anymore... hehe
*
Let me make a calculation .. (correct me if I m wrong)
say the 5 bar --> 5x95=475km , 6 bar = 70
total drive for full tank = 475+70 = 545km ===> boleh tahan fc nya rclxm9.gif

erm..bonnet does reduce abit..but not completely...in order to reduce more engine noise,u need to soundproof the firewall (behind dashboard)...because that is the part where engine sound comes in.... biggrin.gif ...price wise depends what type of material u want..can try go accessories shop and survey...for me i bought cotton type (infulex)....RM50 for 2.5meters..
*
Firewall behind dashboard ? hmm.gif ok ok ... thanks.
Yeah, I searched it at garage just now. tongue.gif

no....bonnet and firewall...mean at the front of your steering there...the whole wall if soundproof...no sound will come in
if enough money....get dynamat...good quality soundproof
if u wanna sounrproof engine and firewall....better find those that can withstand heat well...u dn't want it to melt there

Added on January 11, 2009, 9:16 pm
u wanna archieve that FC...u gotta be light footed
and u have to do many times of service
usually u will get bad FC before 1000-5000KM or more
RM50 is like water
*
How to do DIY soundproof to reduce engine noise ? need to take out engine or take out steering ... ? Any pictures to show ?
If send car to garage, how long to wait just for the wall soundproof ?

if u wanna soundproof whole car...better send to car shop..
they have better skill dismantle the firewall, apply the soundproof and put back the whole things...
soundproof whole car dn't have to take out the engine
for door...dismantle the door trim, clean, apply and put it back properly
for soundproof...i will recommend send to shop until u know the car part, screw very well

Added on January 12, 2009, 6:13 pm
how can it be spoil so fast...all it do is open suck and close only...haha
if it's plastic problem..use what is better?
*
good advice. rclxms.gif
