QUOTE(MR_alien @ Feb 1 2009, 09:34 PM) B-line is good enough like M-line also...just some part no paint only heres my dads proposal to me..just dn't get N-line...i dn't recommend that just tell dad...new car is always better than used car...less problem and all under warranty... after he heard this...sure his mine will be more on new car saga LMST 2nd hand-RM450 X 4 years - RM21,900 My proposal New Saga ill ask my dad for dpayment 10k which leaves 24,998(old price) and for a 7 year payment would amount to RM378.42/month with 3.88% interest.. first two years will be paid by my dad..and once i grad and get a job ill pay for myself..thats my proposal..but somehow my dad seems reluctant..i dont know,need to negotiate samo..i dont want to sound too demanding but boy is this stressful.. |

QUOTE(MR_alien @ Feb 1 2009, 10:35 PM) ya....negotiate well well,id say first round of negotiation didnt really succeed..that's a good plan u got there ...good plan just tell him it's better to have a new car...no need to waste extra money to fix repair cuz all is under warranty mah... downpayment only 10% price of the car ah...no need so much...maybe the left pay for the car...not the loan so no need loan so much my dads argument was: 1)if i would get a job after i grad 2)whether id grad on time 3)whether he might be still working by then to pay for the first 2 years(my dad is working on contract and hes ends in april,might be extended another year but not confirmed) 4) he said for the LMST or any other second hand..an rm8k down payment can be put aside for at least one year of monthly installments..that would settle one year already all safe and sound..compared to a new car,rm8k downpayment and by the next month,ull have to start paying the monthly amount already..he said he would be ok either way but asked me to think properly since it is a very big risk.. 1)if my dad doesnt get the contract extension 2)whether id be able to survive paying on my own after i grad.. (im in my final year in my engineering degree) maybe ill just have to settle for a wira.. |

@MR_alien
@heavencloud sounds like a good idea..see how la,looks like my parents already 80% confirm not getting me a new saga..mum said its too big of a risk..'negotiations' when on for nearly an hour last night..disappointing but i guess i cant be too demanding..and like u mentioned about the economic situation.. @SiuYi ill be going to the showroom later just to check for the prices and 'play' abit with the car.. (sad..) QUOTE(torresism @ Feb 2 2009, 11:39 AM) Don go for LMST la, top up a bit money go for BLM, u wont regret it. If comparing between LMST and BLM: i am fully aware of the above..my heart is 90% on the new saga since the LMST oso is a car with technologies from the 80s..if i were to choose a 2nd hand id rather have a wira for that price..i dont mind paying on my own once i get a job after i grad..the thing is getting past the first two years where my dad will be paying for me..but even for a second hand car,i will have to pay myself after the first 2 years..thats what i was thinking,with a degree i cud get a job and the new car would be more then half paid by then..Comfort: BLM >LMST Engine: BLM> LMST Chasis: BLM>LMST Exterior: BLM>LMST Interior: BLM>LMST Room size: BLM>LMST Luggage room: BLM> LMST AirCond: BLM>LMST Tell ur dad the things i mentioned above.. it all depends on my dad on whether he can afford the payment up till 2 years and whether i can get a job after that..my dad is 60 and is working on a contract..he let me decide on the car,about which one i want..but at the same time he lectured me about what if something happens to him and who was going to pay for me??and how if he doesnt get hios contract extended?what if by 2 years and i dont get a job??he has a point so like i said,i dont think i have a choice anymore... |

QUOTE(SiuYi @ Feb 2 2009, 03:35 PM) torresism oh..i thought it was a classic saga with a new 'casing'.. if im not wrong, LMST wins in FC..iswara classic engine. flying-liao correct. panda version is N-line. aztechx update us the currect market price together with the Freebies,if possible.as its useful for potential buyers. QUOTE(torresism @ Feb 2 2009, 03:26 PM) i think u should wait after u grad and got a job first...risky..don take wira, my bro wira only 3 years oredi got a lot problem such as oil leaking, oil meter spoiled, power window etc etc.... QUOTE(heavencloud @ Feb 2 2009, 04:30 PM) Yes, that is a wise choice. Don't be too pushy, be patient a bit. If u still insist, then possibly u will only got the lmst. If u stay patient, then sure can afford the blm yup..no matter how i think,2nd hand isnt going to be a good idea..thinking about maintainence and all which i will be paying on my own after the first 2 years..about waiting until i grad,i wish i could hang on until then..at the moment,my car is the only way for me to commute to class and back..no buses here and my friends can be really unreliable when it comes to attending classes..and my current car,the classic mini,has a breakdown frequency of 2-3 months..which is very stressful..my dad decided to get another car since the cost of maintainence is too high already..not worth it..repairs could cost approx RM1k everytime..so id say i have a 2-3 months 'window' to get another car before it breaks down again..ive been driving it for almost 2 years now..so situation is i will be getting a car..not of my choice..but will be paid by me after the first 2 years..sad huh..my mum sent me a message and said i didnt have to worry about a new car since my dad will help chip in when the time comes for me to get a new one..the thing is,id be around 25-28 by the time that happens and i cant be relying on my parents to help me anymore..it should be the other way round..my dad is quite well off,just that he 'trains' us to not easily get what we want since we were young..which is why i think there is room for discussions but the way he says 'no' without saying it does scare me..aiyoo..i want to grad fast! heres a 'graph' i drew..comparing a saga and a 2nd hand car (using LMST price) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « p/s:maybe i should start a new thread..really hijacking at the moment.. ok..i think the best thing to do is get a 2nd hand like some of you mentioned and start thinking of a new car only when im stable enough to pay the monthly installment...from the way u say it,i dont think a second hand LMST or wira can be that bad..

QUOTE(SiuYi @ Feb 3 2009, 01:39 AM) aztechx if u were to juz have a transport to move around within this few years, disregard the quality of an old car, i would intro u a sedan iswara 1.3 year 2001. ranging around rm12k, with loan still applicable.can still fit into the roads for around 5 years till ur stable in income to have a better car.some more, its still a reliable car thou, as taxis are having it now too.. QUOTE(NicJolin @ Feb 3 2009, 01:51 AM) yea exactly, so u might want to think twice before getting the blm. coz the lmst is quite affordable to maintain. the spare parts are cheap enough and since u're not bringin ur whole family around, i guess is ok with the lmst. coz u have to realize paying the installment every month is pain in the ass. luckily im paid my car by cash and i dun have to worry bout those installment. and interest do kills. meanwhile, you cannot stop visualizing yourself being in a new car. determination of a person does results to the thing that person owns. so u might want to be visualizing yourself being in a new blm until the extent that it is so true just like the car is just in front of you. And then it might really happen. by how? we don't know. but it will really happen 1 day soon if ur determination to own that thing is really strong enough. It can be u strike lottery tomorrow and u just happen to have the money for the car. haha it sounds like dream but it does happen. i dun mean is just by winning lottery, it can be any way. so be focus and go towards ur goal. All the best. QUOTE(caviars @ Feb 3 2009, 09:57 AM) I would suggest getting the LMST. It is much cheaper to maintain compare to BLM. yea..ive been calculating the cost and everything..interest does hurt alot..i guess when the times come,ill get a new car on my own..not in the nearest future i guess..since even an rm20k downpayment would cost rm200+/month..looks like a small amount but still we hear about kancils being repossessed every now and then..haih..ill listen to the more experienced people since im only 22 and i dont think i know much..So far I only change the power window switch at SC. the choice is between an lmst and a wira now..still deciding but to be honest,the boxy design of the lmst is quite a turn off.. p/s:and guess what,my mini broke down again today... |

QUOTE(xshiro @ Feb 3 2009, 10:09 PM) wira is not bad car. u wouldnt want to think of wira when u are driving saga lmst. so decide carefully, im thinking of persona or gen2 cps while driving a blm... but it just me.. erm..u mean wira better or LMST better?QUOTE(SiuYi @ Feb 3 2009, 10:33 PM) well..to explain the situation..my heart is totally on the saga..but i dont think it seems like a possible option for me after my second round of discussion with my family..my dad said it is for me to decide,he would be ok but i guess i dont want to put the risk on my family like that..and u know what hurts most?1)the saga showroom i pass by everyday on my way to class has 20+ (reducing by day) sagas parked nearby.. 2)2 of my neighbors own the saga and park in direct view of my rooms window.. 3)i registered at the BLM club forum already.. starting my therapy by not looking at saga pics anymore..but still ive posponed my showroom 'trip' to thursday.. p/s:i already feel guilty for going so far off topic in this thread..sorry This post has been edited by aztechx: Feb 4 2009, 12:03 AM |
