afaik BLM doesn't use DBW for the throttle so can't use the booster...lemme check mine again later. And can you all please stop talking about the sheared cranks...that's old story already due to early batch miscalculation of sinter forge technique causing it to shear

QUOTE(SiuYi @ Dec 20 2008, 01:26 PM) almostthere Let me have a look at mine tomorrow since it's very easy to identify after I removed the engine cover but to be honest that booster is just a signal amplifier to indicate to ECU to open throttle at greater opening since DBW's input is resistance based output which means the ECU reads the voltage being reported back and corresponds accordingly. So the base issue lies in the programming itselfjuz wanna make sure isit that BLM throttle with IAFM?eventually not about the wire technology? From wat i read from wat i googled for this electronic throttle control system,i conclude myself that actually our BLM has this function in it as all DBW engine do have such stuff to control their system.only that the tuning of such stuff is different.eventually our BLM do not and will not need such stuff in it coz its juz a semi-auto controlling system to ur engine response. a good example is the ABS braking system.it initiates when driver press on the brakes and same goes to this system.its not a real-time system..how to say ler..i oso duno how to explain ler.. QUOTE(Darkmage12 @ Dec 20 2008, 09:54 PM) Short of taking the crank out and subjecting it to tensile testing, I'd say no |

QUOTE(SiuYi @ Dec 21 2008, 12:23 AM) almostthere Clearly that's not how an ECU works. ECU works based on feedback. Feedback is from sensors and for general systems running the main feedback is based on an electrical value. DBW only gives feedback based on the pedal position. How? Imagine a simple example. Look at your radio. You turn the knob clockwise you get a louder volume right? How urgent you want it to be louder is dependent on how quick you twist that knob. So the booster acts as "trickster" telling the ECU that you supposedly pressed the pedal to a position you want to press at a more urgent rate. That's how I believe it to beactually its quite a redefined statement for the system.our car running on programmed ecu.means there are meant to rev till a certain limit then reacts on certain situations.so having those stuff in the engine will eventually "corrupt" the system from semi auto, to auto..AFAIK, its sounds like a virus.haha. QUOTE(someone_stupid @ Dec 21 2008, 12:35 AM) No la not so that bad k? Mine is 2 days old. 2 bar strips and mileage 200km already. QUOTE(alamdamai1 @ Dec 31 2008, 02:59 PM) guys, i'm planning to get myself either a new Saga BLM [N or B Line] or a Myvi (budget is not the major consideration but of course would have some influence) ...hence, compared with each other, which car performs better and gives good fuel economy and cheaper to maintain?...your thoughts on this matter is highly appreciated....many thanks... Your question would obviously yield a biased answer here but to be frank, the value for money ratio for Saga is better (which is what swayed me to get one). FC wise for manual I've managed to achieve about 14+km/l and in terms of performance, let's just say a Myvi is gonna have a hard time to keep up with me or lose me. Maintenance wise I'd leave it to the more experienced one's to answer |

QUOTE(NewAchiever @ Jan 2 2009, 08:40 AM) Oh boy By right it's not a good idea to over extend your current service point since I've noticed such practices actually increases likelyhood of engine sludging. What would be a good idea is to service it now and mark the next service to be at 11000km insteadBtw, i just wan to confirm something for the final time, i got reply that i should go and service my car if it reach the NEXT SERVICE DATE even though I have yet to achieve 6000km What will be the impact if i just go and service only upon reaching 6000km which might be 1-2 months after the supposingly NEXT SERVICE DATE? If let say mileage only around reach 3000km at that time, wouldn't it be wasting to service it just because it reach the NEXT SERVICE DATE? Coz the engine oil change is suppose to be upon 6000km right? Any particular reason why we should go and service the car upon reaching the NEXT SERVICE DATE, which i noticed in the warranty book, the service is upon 3 months (Or 6000km), 3 months (Or 10000km) mmmmm Thanks in advance |

Hurmmm...this is weird the FC for manual BLM's. Mine's a B-Line manual wiht lots of mixed driving RM50 still can stretch me upto 360km between fillup's. The most I've done was 496km with RM60 init. And yes, I do drive it very fast at times. Upto 165-170km/h at night just for fun. Once a week
