u guys are so lucky and yet dare to ask from parents this and dat. all i had was a motorbike and only got a car after 3 years working.

my advise is in current uncertain times do not waste money on high interest rates. i know everyone wants the feeling of new car.

u mention of 7yr loan trust me i dun think its a good choice as u r tied down for 7 years....as for me my strategy is to pay off the car as soon as possible, take the shortest time period.

mind you i was working in PJ also. i finally bought myself a waja after that.

SiuYi: i've got a number long long time ago. is no. 18. but i haven't got the sticker on my car yet. biggrin.gif

Aztechx: dun try to hard to get the car if u or ur dad are not financially able to do soon. the car will not runaway so just dun be too desperate. because u shud know that car is something that will depreciate over time so is not like investment for ur money. anyway getting a 2nd hand lmst is not too bad afterall.
For Proton's car warranty is not something like BMW's warranty. u still have to pay a lot to maintain the warranty from being void. like u have to go back to authorised or official proton service centre for scheduled servicing of ur car. All of which needs a lot of money comparing when u service ur car at any garage out there. A 2nd hand lmst doesn't necessary have the worst built quality, as for proton cars is all about luck. So if your luck is good, u will have a peace of mind with the car.

For your information, i'm drivin the new saga now. On the feb 5th, is my car's 1 year old birthday. some info about my car, the 1st month i got my car, i changed the iafm. then is ok for sometime. follow up with changing of power window switch on the driver's door. fortunately there's no problem about the power window. For all the following problems i dun remember the time i changed it anymore. In which the things that happen with my car are problem with gear oil leaking, drive shaft design faulty, trunk lamp doesn't light up, doors get detached when drivin (it doesn't open, but the place when it detects the door is close is detached, therefore the doors open warning light being light up), changin of a new gearbox and drive shaft in the end, after several attempts of repairing that brings no result to the gear oil leaking. By the way, i need to pay for the freaking gear oil everytime it finished leaking, as if that was my fault to cause it leaking. And i did pay for a oil seal which the SC suspect is the cause of leaking, again the whole tank of gear oil i have to pay again.

Therefore, getting a new proton doesn't guarantee u a problem-less car. is all depends on your luck. u might get a really nice 2nd hand lmst afterall.
Decision is yours. think thoroughly before coming to a conclusion, do not hastily make a decision just because u want a new car.
you can buy ur own car after graduate and earning your ur money. i bought this car myself as well although im still studying. Sometimes, dun expect ur parents to give you too much when they are not the rich. Let's just considered we are the less fortunate to not born in the family of rich people. haha smile.gif

my persona same as ur problem..done "on wheel balancing"...then on the road time, the steering shudder again....try swapping with back tyres...even worst... rclxub.gif rclxub.gif ..in fact, i had went to 4 different shops to do on wheel...

just today..i went and do "on wheel again"..the mechanic also pening d...

check the rims=no dent
on wheel balancing= done perfectly...

but 1 thing is when i brake the car above 110km++...the steering also shudder/vibrate hard.but releasing the brake back to normal..as what the machanic said...it could be the brake disc plate warp/uneven that might be also contribute to the steering vibrating/shudder when highspeed is done...

another possibility..the tyre thread...but i think that not a problem... hmm.gif hmm.gif ...anyone can confirm this??..brake disc or tyre problem??...headace now..spent 5times on "on wheel balancing" also cant solve.....even alignment n off wheel balancing is done..

Don go for LMST la, top up a bit money go for BLM, u wont regret it.  If comparing between LMST and BLM:

Comfort: BLM >LMST
Engine: BLM> LMST
Chasis: BLM>LMST
Exterior: BLM>LMST
Interior: BLM>LMST
Room size: BLM>LMST
Luggage room: BLM> LMST
AirCond: BLM>LMST

Tell ur dad the things i mentioned above.. laugh.gif
*
overall BLM.....chasis much much stronger than LMST....coz its from savvy's platform...so safer..
why i??..coz last time got 1 LMST accidentally KISS the gen2's bumper when going out from junction..speed i think 10-20km..the whole front bumper kemek like hamburger... sweat.gif sweat.gif ....but overall LMST is not a bad car for u 2 drive around..cheap parts available...and the old engine can just
vrooommm it as hard as u can... thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

yea exactly, so u might want to think twice before getting the blm. coz the lmst is quite affordable to maintain. the spare parts are cheap enough and since u're not bringin ur whole family around, i guess is ok with the lmst. coz u have to realize paying the installment every month is pain in the ass.
luckily im paid my car by cash and i dun have to worry bout those installment. and interest do kills.

meanwhile, you cannot stop visualizing yourself being in a new car. determination of a person does results to the thing that person owns. so u might want to be visualizing yourself being in a new blm until the extent that it is so true just like the car is just in front of you. And then it might really happen. by how? we don't know. but it will really happen 1 day soon if ur determination to own that thing is really strong enough. It can be u strike lottery tomorrow and u just happen to have the money for the car. haha it sounds like dream but it does happen. i dun mean is just by winning lottery, it can be any way. so be focus and go towards ur goal. All the best. biggrin.gif

Thanks Mr Alien, heavencloud and flying-liao for the problem pinpointing. Actually my car's not that new, about 3 months old, and I haven't go for the first service yet aikz I know I should but it's really too hectic... took my car to first sc during CNY week thursday... called them beforehand, they said no prob, then when I went they told me the related technicians to my other problems are all on holiday. Sweeet. Waste of petrol. Only a few days after that I found out about the steering shuddering problem...

I would suggest getting the LMST. It is much cheaper to maintain compare to BLM.

So far I only change the power window switch at SC.

You need to have good repo with service center. mine was a small service center at Bentong. they're willing to minus the "additional" item, they even let me bring along my own engine oil. just a small service center with 3 operating bay. i just sit at a chair beside my blm when they service it biggrin.gif. I'm not too trusting to just sit back and enjoy tv at customer waiting room.

please doublecheck your quote before submit to them, lots of service center will auto add this stupid item. mostly veteran/older people dont mind...but not me.
