I use Cooler Master HAF. So far. It is a good case with Cable management hole and CPU cooler hole. Not many case out there that has CPU hole to make your CPU Cooler replacement easier... I vote for HAF...

but cry.gif

u have to hold the cooler on the right side while screwing/unscrewing it on the left side

otherwise the cooler will fall off

plus, u got the whole top panel restricting ur hand to go through it to hold off the cooler

in conclusion, is still a hassle job

still thumbup.gif

is a lot easier compared to conventional way where u have to unplug/plug the mobo/cables in/out of the case

HAF 932 much more better air cooling..

Like many strong case designs, it may not be for everyone, but the features – especially the quiet and expandable airflow – alone make this a case that’s hard to hate.

you must consider this before making any decision,

if i am not helping, let me know..haha

me also like this casing (TT V9) , but do not know why i still dont want to buy this case after compared to the others

especially compared to cm690. may be the price is the issue..

i suggest if you really want cool design, go take V9.

from what i learned people review, cm690 is the best worth for your money..

gud luck..

I take V9 for design too but its very very expensive!
CM 690 on the other hand, it has great looks, the ventilation is quite on par with V9, and its cheap!

Also, I don't need to go order the V9 from anyone else! Just go in PC Depot and get a CM 690 casing.

Nah I dont care if its new, I read up reviews saying V9's top is very flimsy and its just plastic.
Also, the V9 does not sell 230mm fans.

I'm planning to get the CM 690 since its easy to get, and cheaper.

I think TT isn't that good.
Antec PSU is well-known for its performance, CPU Coolers i support Arctic Cooling.
Their Freezer Xtreme rules!
I was planning to get that but its not available in Ipoh so instead i got a DeepCool Ice Tower instead.

my fren using HAF liao .
its okay2 la for bang for bucks casing .
very cheap and convinient .
but trust me .
it sucks dust like 1 year for other casing = 3 months for diz casing .

besides d front fan cannot remove so far i can see (sorry if im wrong)

and any modding would be restricted .

but for airflow its superb .
d casing name itself oso HAF maa

HAF 932 = High Air Flow 932.

Added on January 31, 2009, 1:48 amedited : diz casing d front part can pull out to clean d fan .
can also mount better air flow 12CM or 14CM fan .

TT is not good??? My god!!! TT is a very good brand IMO.... Their toughpower PSU are superb in terms of quality..... And as for their casings, I hav tried them before and they are pretty good in their design.... The onli bad thing is that it is very hard to find full aluminium tower onli.....

In Ipoh, u also can try to go to PC depot.... Not necessarily go to Yik Foong one.... I still remember the days when I was there.... Also, one more place u can check for good prices in Ipoh is Kiasu in Yik Foong....

Added on January 29, 2009, 1:07 pmAnd btw, I may be going back to Ipoh this weekend so, if TS wan to buy anything from KL, just let me know....

If you want to get good, branded stuff and affordable prices go PC Depot, they're the cheapest with lots of varieties.
As for Yik Foong they sell some branded, some NOT branded and more onto graphic cards and processors, motherboard etc.

PC Depot's CM prices are somewhat high FYI.
I got my CM 690 for RM 250 about 1 year ago, and now PC Depot is still pricing them at near RM300.

Just FYI.

the psu is located in the middle... that is a good thing compare to the psu located in below for such aa big case...

the 24pin will easily reach the motherboard...

the air flow for full tower is good to compared with mid tower.but, how many fans running inside the rig also can determine

the airflow ventilation of ur case..i prefer full tower for the reason of the superior roomy

and got a lot of stuff to put inside the case..and cable mgt is easy to handle.. (normally depends ur skills tho)

unless u using the size of a sff, the tempreture will not differ that much... a well design mid tower can compare with full tower with no problem.

ya, the roomy reasons come to play. but i do prefer mid tower compare to full tower, just my opinion.

I will say no to Gigabyte case coz it is so outdated which i can say is they still use to install the PSU on the top. Which i feel this is kind of outdated.

for budget round RM800,
if want a allu full tower, i think cooler master is around that budget.
if opt for allu mid tower, silverstone and ah lian are recommended.

for normal ATX cases id still MUCH prefer having the PSU on top...

the heat issue is actually not an issue...PSUs are designed to handle heat...especially the good ones. the heat from the case barely affects the PSU.

one of the main reasons for putting PSU at the bottom would be for case stability....wont topple over as easily as a PSU on top....but ur cable management and wat not gonna be like shit with PSU at the bottom unless u have inverted ATX like the V Series.

about the full tower, maybe u shuld choose the cheapest. pm karom and see...
a77 will be cooler as the front is vented.

as always, the more vent, the more noise and dust.

about air flow, p60 will win coz there are option to install 3x120mm fan in front.

and i like p60 alot too.

aerocool cases are somewhat rare in this country sadly.

even if there are aerocool sellers, they dont really bring in alot of the product line...

some bulkers did try bringing it in a couple of years back.... try searching for aerocool in garage sales and bulk order section.....might give u some hints...

TT most case is using aluminum while CM is using SECC. SECC is heavier and bulkier if compare to Alu. IMO, TT case is better but CM case is easier to get.

hi..im currently using Raidmax Ninja 300w casing.
had this back since 2007.
lately,(or maybe i didnt notice last time) i noticed many defects.
its lik at the top of my casing,it isnt straight. its sorta lik hav a small bump on it.
not only that,my side panel doesnt seem properly done n ther is a small gap wher it can be seen through.

anyway... i plan to get a new casing (my budget is 200-350 or so)
i plan to get sth lik dis casing
n also pls recommend me sth which will b able to fit in good hardwares in the future (as in high end hardwares)
n if possible, a casing which would allow water cooling.
thankx

475??
wowwww~!! thats expensive!

anyway yeaaa..ive been tinking n based on d price i would opt to buy a new raidmax ninja
BUT! after more consideration,i decided to postpone the buying of a new casing. rather use the money to buy other stuff lik new MOBO since my casing defect isnt that obvious.

any idea on how to camouflage the "bump" on my casing?

HAF932 full tower leh... wat u expect? sweat.gif
count s cheap lor...

i agree that buying internal components r more important so to increase performance,
but u have to think that whether u current Ninja will prevent u from buying components that it cant support, such as E-atx mobos(most likely cant get it tongue.gif )

about your casing bump,
hammer it back? tongue.gif
or put heavy stuffs on it then it will 'flatten' itself

depends la, normally if put heavy things for a long time,
it usually will bend itself back
but u must put it for a LONG time la tongue.gif
this is the old school way to fix things out of shape brows.gif

since its plastic, maybe applying some heat
it will melt back to shape? tongue.gif tongue.gif

Both version of cm690 are same performance...The only diff is the position of I/O panel and this wont effect its performance...

Most problably the japan version is made in China and sold in Japan market, therefore it's called japan version...

I'm also getting a new casing. Looking at CM690 or storm scout.

Anyone over here got any real review on these 2 casings? Like the pros n cons of these 2 casings.

I have seen the actual CM690, yeah... lots of holes and good air flow, but how about dust accumulation too? Too much holes so it might end up with all the dust in it.

And for storm scout, is the handle made of plastic or metal? I have never seen a real thing yet. All the shops I visit said out of stock.

So need some sifu help here, CM690 or Storm Scout?

I'd choose cm690 if i were u...Im sure that cm690 has greater air flow than storm scout, bcoz more fan can be installed in cm690...Summore the cm690 is cheaper than storm scout for sure..

from the price that i'm getting, storm scout is cheaper! cm690 is the nvidia version... around RM325. while storm scout is RM300 only. Anymore advise besides the pricing issue?

Why get nvidia version? The price doesnt worth for the nvidia theme...The normal version is more than enough for good airflow...Dont waste the extra RM65 juz for the nvidia theme...

Hi, I'm looking for a good full tower casing with good airflow and dust filters, something that is quite and spacious enough to fit a very long graphic card.

I've done quite a few research on casings within rm500+ price range, the best so far is HAF932 but the lack of dust filter and its design is a turn off (I prefer old school hehe).

Also what brand is the most durable and isn't easily scratched?

My budget is around 500+ (I'm probably pushing my luck here but who cares  smile.gif )

All advice welcome
*
For full tower case, RM500 budget only can get HAF932...It's the cheapest full tower case...

HAF932 and HAF922 got wat different? Price different how much? CM690,HAF932,HAF922,Storm sCout which one better? Budget lower than Rm400..
I see so many ppl complaint about cm690 is a dust collecting machine...
Any way can less it or solve it? If buy cm690 recommend to put how many 120mm fan?
And if compare CM690 with storm scout which one more value?
Compare with CM690 with Smilodon which one more good??
I looking for a value casing with good air flow+Easy to do cable management+Look nice after pasang LED fan

regardless of what casing u using

be it alu or secc, cheap or expensive

more fans u use, more dusty its gonna be

more fans u installed, more noisy its gonna be hands.gif

it is almost same as CM690 but of course the most obvious different is the case fan included is from aerocool.

With RM600 budget... you have a wide range of choice.

Get the CM690 and put in all 7 fans.. also high airflow liao.

frankly this should be in recommendation thread, but nvm mods will merge it there soon/later.

that budget could suggest you the Nzxt Tempest, dont judge by exterior. airflow its very good.

erm....non-hole casing?? tongue.gif juz joking,

i believe there is no casing that won't let dust in, what we can do is to put filter on every fan to minimize the inflow of the dust into the casing...unless u build a solid wall casing, which let no air through......

Greeting to all brothers and sisters I'm new to this forum and this forum is really good. I'm going to have my new gaming rig soon so i started to do my research. Well I'm after for a case with reasonable price which got enough of room for crossfire and water cooling system. At first I was thinking to get CM Cosmos 1100 but i want to put it on my table and i got wall unit attached to the table so the full tower case might be too tall and cannot fit in. So I guess mid size tower case is the one i should after, I know lot of ppl using cm690 but i prefer something better than that. Anyone got any recommendation? Thanks!

U guys.. Can give me some recomendation.. Which one is better. brows.gif
Cm HAF922 Window panel or Cm690 or Lancool K-62.

Like the LED fan in the casing.. Haha.. laugh.gif

Hmm.. Btw, does the casing is important? It can effect our performance or not? Or just normal casing will be enough? Really noob about it.. Huhu.. Thx..

u can refer to the past thread dude. there's a lot of people have a same problem like u even me last time.

imo, cm690 is still the best in terms of air flow, but its also depends on how much intake fan n exhaust fan u put there la. diff people got diff opinion.

but if u dont have a problem in budget, y not u try lian li.. smile.gif

i'd go with the 922 if money was a problem.. well, if $$ not an issue.. i'd say, Silverstone or Lian Li biggrin.gif.. the lan cool casing also looks good.. either lancool or 922 imo.. CM690 is old and pretty common casing edi =/

between the 3 id take lancool...love the features of the case...and the 8th PCI slot will be useful for people running multi card systems.

haf has no filters for dust which i think is stupid...

and CM690 is overrated...i have that case in the office and regret it.wanna clean the filter oso susah....no filter for PSU fan...dust still gets in ALOT....

if u have a super clean room, get the HAF922.. it has good airflow, and good interior design as well if ur thinking on modifying ur hardware later on.
the lancool case is also good. and its quite roomy. the two 14" fans are placed outside the main cavity leaving good space to be used for big CPU coolers. the 922 has a more 'industrial' design. looks better and has more airflow. two side fans can be installed therefore gives ur hardware lots of air to breath.

both cases are good in terms of airflow. but if you're routing to go LC (liquid cooling), better of with the HAF. there are problems with the liquid cooling design for the lancool case. radiator mount that would most probably block the tubing holes and top radiator mount which in my opinion has to modded in order to secure the radiator. and not to forget, lancool case doesnt have a side fan. side fans really cool down hardware effectively.

Betwen these 3, need suggestion which one has:

1- Silverstone Raven 01
2- CM Cosmos S
3- Thermaltake Armor (full tower version)

i) The best design for airflow without any need for me to MOD?
ii) Mobo tray with a hole behind the hsf area?
iii) The biggest space inside, not the biggest frame/casing?

Thanks in advance. icon_rolleyes.gif

thanks bro for ur suggestion..

but i oleady hav a raven now so it is unlikely i will have it as my next casing laugh.gif .. for atcs840 it really look nice and it has a look tat able to impress all (i like da 2x200mm fan on the top of it) but i dunno lar, it feel kinda empty inside.. even with full atx mobo and mumbo jumbo GC it is still unable to cover out all the empty space:D (kinda like HAF 932 wit matx mobo inside) .. as for TJ cry.gif sweat.gif to expensive to reach. and for cosmos s maybe i will think bout it.. drool.gif drool.gif dun wan transparent side panel version..

You don't want the transparent side panel? Go for a case like CM Cosmos 1000 Black Label?

Unable to cover out all empty space? I think you should buy a mid-tower case like Antec P183 (RM 735)...

TJ09, only RM 899...

icon_rolleyes.gif

Added on September 7, 2009, 5:04 pmI don't like the antec case because of the depth size, like antec twelve hundred, the depth size should be like cosmos or other full tower case size, but unfortunately, the depth size is just like mid-tower size case...

Antec case nice but they must increase the depth for a "real" full tower case...

not sure if it's true, but if the inside is also all black, wouldnt that mean heat build up faster that way?

YES and NO..

yes for black colour r more easy to absorb heat but is in "radiation" meaning the heat from UV or CCFL light that u install in the casing will be fully absorb by the casing making it more hotter.

No for reason that casing have alot of fan.. so all the heat tat build up is carrying away by air turbulance from the fan

Overall NO...

Don't worry about the color...heat will dissipate easily and very quick to outside your case...

hi doom, thanks for the reply but to be more specific, i'm looking for the case that sits horizontal on the table and not uprite. similar to how a dvd player sits on the table. i've enough extra PC parts to built another computer and i want this to be my media player for my TV room. so, the case has to look nice too. hope someone has seen something like this maybe on stores or local websites?

that's a nice one bro and not too expensive. i actually saw that already at allit and wanted to buy that, but after measuring the height when it's horizontal, realized it doesnt fit in my TV shelf. i saw many b4 at one point selling at places like mines and imbi - slim, sleek, small... nice! i'm hoping someone's seen something like this. if u have, do let me know.

Hi, I have been gathering information regarding the case, and I have found quite a number of casing which is quite nice and good airflow such as CM storm sniper, Silverstone Raven2 Lian Li Aluminium case etc.

But I cant make any decision on which I should purchase as all of them provide a good air flow, but all of them does not have removable motherboard tray.

So I was wondering you guys who is good at judging these casing would give me some idea which case would be suitable for me.

I would like my casing to be:

-Aluminium ( money is not a problem)
-Removable tray
-All ventilation come with dust filter.
-Less noise produce.

Any pro's please give me your recommendation, appreciate your help. notworthy.gif

It seems like these casings that are recently released are not with the removable motherboard tray. I was wondering why all these casings are not built with removable motherboard tray~ doh.gif

If they all have this feature, then i dont need to worry about casing anymore :S

DFI Lanparty UT X48
TRUE 120 push-pull config
Asus GTX285
Corsair HX1000

Looking for a full tower or mid tower with spacious interior.Currently considering on either FT01 or RV01, but if there's any better case, do let me know. Not planning for WC in the near future.I like something simple and elegant, not fancy like Sniper. Thanks for any suggestion

RV02 in the market already?what's the pricetag?better than RV01?actually cable management with Raven is not really my concern, as my PSU has very long cables,so shouldn't be a big prob for routing.

In terms of airflow, FT or RV better?

Mid-range, FT-01 is good enough but since you want to have a superb airflow, Antec 1200 is superior.

edither intel or amd, nowadays, it can deploy cool n quiet / speedstep n d fan speed can control by mobo software automaticaly.

when d cpu is jus switch on for downlaodin, d fan n all speed will drop thus makin it super silent.

in order to reduce d noise to vry minimum,

u either:

- buy noise absorption pad n put inside d casing
- buy ready installed absorption pad casing like cm sileo 500, u can try ask chchyong89 . he is usin dat casing..lol

RV02 seems good, motherboard mounting upside down.. hahaha.. but compared to haf932, which is better? i think RV02 seems to be smaller, albeit a bit longer compared to HAF932

also, the RV02 more than rm100 above haf932..
*
I'll go for HAF932

230mm fan at the front, 230mm fan on top, 230 mm fan at the side and 140mm fan at the back.

RV02 is also steel, so i dont think its worth adding another 100. Unless it is made of Alu

just my 2 cent

Between CM690 and Lancool K58W which one is better?
I asked this because the every aspect of K58W is seem perfect.
just got one part I struggling about,

the CM690 depth 524mm while the K58W only 498mm
Does the difference make big problem ? hmm.gif

Lian-li has a whole bunch of aluminium amp type htpc cases. I normally get my lian-li cases from ATE in Lowyat - call them to see what's available.

You're right, my previous chassis is CM 590...cm 690 is more comfortable, but, for the air flow, i am not sure, look at the front design of cm 590, you can put up tu 3 120mm fans (if you use an external dvd-rom/rw and etc...)....

Anyone can recommend a good full size tower casing? As I'm going to purchase new PC next week, budget is around 600. From the research i made, it seems like Silverstone RV02 is kinda match with my needs, HAF932 is in my list as well but the only thing i don't like is that they don't have dust filter. doh.gif

Anyone sifu can guide me? Thanks notworthy.gif

Obviously, you're more likely rv02, but rv02, is not a full tower, rv01, is a full tower...

Between, rv02, and HAF932, I will choose choose rv02....

The CM stacker and CM cosmos seem quite costly. Do they even cost around RM600 only because they all aluminum?

OMG, I thought RV02 is full tower casing. I am worried bout RV01 because:

1) Fan speed is very low and the air ventilation is not as good as RV02.

2) The IO shield panel, If I plug the thumbdrive, the external case cannot put back as the thumbdrive has blocked the top case.

3) I'm not so fond of front door, I have a bad experience using casing with door that I'm so frustrated on the door that I even take out the door forcefully . shocking.gif

I haven't checked the thermaltake speedo. Let me check its review first.

Added on October 6, 2009, 3:25 pmI have checked the Thermaltake Spedo Case. This case really impress me. (from all features that thermaltake has given).

But one thing that i worried is that does it fit on a Radeon5870 graphic card? ohmy.gif

1) You're right, but I have no problems, with the air flow, plus, you can customize the fans later. You can add or change.

2) Don't worry, the thumdrive will fit perfectly, plus, you can put your thumbdrive at front connector?

3) Yeah, I don't like too. but this door is different, plus, you can apply a grease or something onto it's "roller"

Well up to you.....

well usually u could all in one fan controller, I/O ports, temperature display in one module from third party manufacturer loh ...

it's not gonna be cheap for sure... the module will cost as much as a case in average.

Looking for ATX casing below RM250, preferably with good airflow/heat dissipation/low noise, design doesn't really matter as long as it's not ugly as hell haha.

in my opinion?
both laugh.gif
k62 nicer and batter quality than 690
k58 for cheaper than k62, nicer and better quality than 690 tongue.gif

performance wise i dunno coz never tested any them. laugh.gif

but than i spend rm350 recently on a lian li case which is much much more better quality and nicer than all of above.

edit~ personal choice only~

Personal's opinion.

If you think this case worth with your money (you're very satisfied with the design and features), then it is worth.
