 How to Show Chinese Character - Vista Home Edition

Good day;
i got a quick question, was trying to figure out how to solve this for 2 days still no luck,

ok my situation is I got an original windows vista Home
I want to view chinese character in the my windows vista Home edition as I have install few chinese program but all the words is just ??? doh.gif rclxub.gif

Here is what I have done or tried before

Go to Control Panel ---> Clock, Language, and Region ---> Region and language ---> Keyboard and Language (OMG the Display language is been disable by Microsoft in this edition shocking.gif )

ok.. nvm..
i tried to install Vistalizator Chinese language
It works, but this totally change my computer language from English to chiense but those display still remain at ??? sweat.gif

then I tried to install a 3rd party software Njstart (南极星)
ok this work.. for desktop or files display change from ascii words to chinese words but those program still remain at ??? blink.gif blink.gif

hmm now I have running out of idea how to solve this anyone encounter this before?

i thought vista automatic have install asian char..maybe this can help..insert ur vista dvd go to control panel and go regional and language go to language tab find supplemental and language support and mark both..

no luck as tat was my frist ry
as microsoft has disabled tat feature.

The Display language section will only be visible if you have already installed a LIP or if your edition of Windows supports MUI. MUI packs are only available in Windows Vista Ultimate and Windows Vista Enterprise.

No, unless you change your windows to windows ultimate.

The only way that you can read chinese is by changing your windows default language to chinese

still No Go...
and finally i know how to solve this

Go to Control Panel ---> Region and Language Option ---> Administrative Tab ---> Under Language for Non-Unicode Programs section click on the “Change System Locale…” ---> Change it to Chinese (PRC)

Restart your pc..
Wallaaaa...

weird...my vista home premium can show chinese character without any problem..i can input chinese character too...

I've tried tat Windows Vista will prompt error unable to install even using recommended setting.

This able to show the Chinese words for Chinese programs

Input u able write Chinese via add the input at the keyboard setting there

& as for Chinese star
I've tried..
urm some till no go still will have funny char rclxub.gif
but change the system locale do solve this issue
