If 3D rendering, shouldn't a workstation gpu be a better choice?

Er....it written there "combined load 255W"
"Total Output is "400W max"....
Means the PSU is 400W??
*
yeah. that psu can provide at most 400w.

i get one super noob question.

i just bought new mobo gigabyte p45 ud3p. when test outside casing system can boot to windows. but after install everything inside casing. continue short beep appears.cannot post or boot. then i dismantle and do test outside casing again. everything works fine. this convince me to install everything inside case again. cannot boot. any idea?

windows xp sp3
q6600
2GB ram
640GB HDD
tx850
GC 9800GX2
*
hmm. this happened probably due to the board being unstable inside the chassis. make sure there's no obstacle that prevents the mobo to be flat as a pancake before u screw it in place. *somehow that sounds wrong* shakehead.gif

nothing wrong with that. the thermal grease acts a heat conductor between the heatsink and the cpu. i dont get what u mean by cleaning the cpu. u only clean the cpu when u change its thermal grease. if u meant by cleaning the heatsink, i always use cotton swabs. and u can touch ur cpu with ur hands provided that u ground urself first.

Hi guys, I would just like to ask a question in here (because this thread looks to be the most suitable for it):

I came across the following ATI Radeon graphic card:

Sapphire ATOMIC HD-4890 1GB GDDR5 PCIE 1000MHz (With Vapor-X Cooler Technology)

According to reviews, the above GPU is as powerful as the following NVIDIA GPU:

GALAXY GeForce GTX-285 1024MB 512BIT GDDR3

However, the ATI Radeon equivalent (above) is selling for a lower price.

My most important concern:

Is the Sapphire ATOMIC HD-4890 1GB GDDR5 PCIE 1000MHz (Vapor-X Cooler Technology) graphic card already selling in Malaysia? (I could not locate it in any of the Lowyat Price list...)

It is a HOT graphic card which I am after!! (Oh please, make it available to me!!! It has a killer look with killer specifications!)
*
Not sure whether that specific sapphire 4890 is on sale but most price list have too little space that they dont bother providing the full details of the GPU.

QUOTE(JohnX @ Jun 9 2009, 10:06 PM)
hi , i have a 500W PSU which was provided with the casing i bought with my PC.  I was wondering whether i could upgrade my current mobo + intel P4 for a Asus m2n68-am plus + AMD Phenom AM2+ X4 9650.

will it run fine or will i need to upgrade my PSU?
*
Should be ok assuming u're using a good PSU. not a cap ayam one.

i dont think there's any problems if u use a different brand of ram but like amduser said, it is best to use the same brand just to be safe.

the sound u heard is coming from the mobo. usually it is used to diagnose a problem eg. 1 long beep, 2 short beeps = RAM error.

i dunno abt that but i believe that could happen.

he's right about formatting n reinstalling windows again after installing a mobo especially if u're using windows xp. even if u insist on running ur xp on that, u'll experience looping while booting into windows. that didnt happen on vista. based on my own experience anyway.

this usually means either driver error or PSU not giving enough juice to GPU.
