use CPU-Z (www.cpuid.com) to check the real time memspeed
because of memory compatibility issue (multiple brand /batch /chipmaker) no one can 100% assure automatic setting over DDR800. 533MHz is real time speed a.k.a. DDR1066 if you use Double Data Rate theorical speed so you're running DDR1066 This post has been edited by ktek: Jun 12 2009, 08:00 PM |

no, enable AHCI don't bring "more" performance.
that's just the "standard" speed but disable it will reduce performance |

in new 3D games, P4 is not fast enough to feed information to 4850.
processor tell mobo to bring HDD in, keep things inside RAM, then he process the codes behind game (load), pass graphic job to 4850, pass sound job to soundcard.. etc so less info at a time =low FPS &framerate =delay &lag =user furious although CM500 continuous power is lower than SS500, it's still a reliable PSU for that price |

another reason would be the fan sleeve or bearing are wear off, since it run high speed for a long time (consider normal wear & tear)
you can apply light lubricant on it (spray WD40 or use motorbike 2T oil) |

QUOTE(chokudori @ Sep 15 2009, 01:46 PM) hi guys, I'm very n00b in this computer thingy. Will be buying a new rig to play games, and I'd like to ask you all some opinion. Would it be advisable to get a 32" LCD TV with full HD or just get one without full HD. The price difference is huge from a full HD to a non full HD. Also nowadays the GCs have full HD ? display card can always adjust to any resolution, no matter HD or not. so, computer side =OK, just need TV that support PC input (VGA, DVI or HDMI) & your media (game /movie). |

QUOTE(danny_sp15 @ Sep 16 2009, 06:01 PM) hey guys, a quick question. which one should i buy: 2GB OCZ PC2 6400 Gold series OR 2GB Kingston Value RAM PC2 6400? cos i'm using both currently, in different PCs, and when i ran the vista windows experience index thing, the full sized ocz ram with heat spreader only got a score of 5.0, while the small naked kingston managed a 5.9. does this mean that the kingston is a better ram? cos i wanna make upgrade one of the pc to 4gb. thanks! pls run a proper benchmark a quick run of superpi 2M 4M 8M (about 5 minute) will show you which is faster. |

danny: yes, i believe superpi more than vista point.
it can show miliseconds so one of them must be SLIGHTLY faster OCZ Gold nice lar xiang: it will run fine. but got possible you will lose Dual Channel advantage, which i'm not sure what model is your mobo it's not significant on normal usage /game after all. 2x2GB give better advantage by: -less confusing memory setting (when you doing serious overclocking) -got 2x free slot to upgrade 6GB 8GB -save a little electric This post has been edited by ktek: Sep 17 2009, 12:44 AM |

QUOTE(wen9x88 @ Sep 22 2009, 12:11 AM) oic, that mean if i upgrade mobo to AM3 and proc phenom 955. i still can use my ddr2 ram ? then my ram will bottleneck performance ? your old question is not clear enough AM3 mobo run only DDR3, can accept AM3 processor only. AM2(+) mobo run only DDR2, can accept both AM2 & AM3 processor. |

QUOTE(danny_sp15 @ Sep 23 2009, 12:35 AM) @Racerx, hi, u said in another forum that an E5200 at 3.2GHz is comparable to a stock E8400. For real? cos if it's real, then i might just save rm100 and get an e5200 instead of a phenom 550 (which is even slower than e8400).. thanks! both are Core Architecture, performance should be similar if overclocked to same speed (E84 still have more cache advantage) but nobody can gurantee the sucessful of your overclocking |
