Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but if I want to buy an good external sound card for my lappy (Dell Inspiron 1420) to listen to music with, across multiple genres like rock and classical and ethnic, etc., what soundcard would you guys suggest that is not too expensive? I only can budget like < RM300 as the rest of my expenditure has to go to buying new speakers (Edifier C3) already. So I don't mind even if you rec the high end stuff, just that I don't have the funds to buy that. Thanks in advance!

that depends on what extras you mean,if it means new graphic cards then that's probably not needed as they are bcoming more and more power efficient

if u say like that, people will recommend those 1000W monster PSUs... some of which will cost more than ur whole pc... sweat.gif hmm, anyway, i'd suggest vantec ion2 400W (RM100) or silverstone ST400 (RM170). more than enough for ur rig, and u wont be having probs with minor upgrades in the future smile.gif

honestly, i dunno much about those capacitor aging and stuff, but i'd say 550W true power should be enough for ur rig. get the silverstone st56f, should be enough. how much is ur budget anyway?

550w should be more than enough. st56f around rm300.

if u're already in love with that psu, then by all means, just get it. it's a pretty good lookin psu, and it's from corsair, and if i have extra cash to burn, i would've bought it as well. smile.gif

Both PSU and Casing doesn't help improve anything for gaming.

PSU = support other hardware PC
Casing = better airflow, heat

For gaming purpose = Proc, Ram, GC smile.gif
