Hi there @@ im using Kingston 2gbx2 Value Ram only 800mhz

I tried to do oc 3.6ghz seems stable with q6600
1.4Vcore

But when i tried to oc 4.0ghz with 1.45v i cant do it
gets BSOD when enter windows

Anyone have any idea? should i change the RAM ....or Change the CPU?
Wah..gonna cost alot @@ just need suggesiton
Oh ya...I got Non_Paged_memory dunno wat in the BSOD
is it possible the ram?

Thanks

Btw my
FSB : DRAM
1 : 1

Thanks!

most probably not your ram problem, instead u need more vcore to do 4ghz.

woah i need more vcore to 4ghz?
hmm...
the temperature already killing >_<
= . =
im using IFX-14 with CM Performance Fan 90CFM
still the cooling not enough i changed thermal paste
you have any idea? >_<
so i should raise to 1.5v? and test..? =/

Coz load alrd 55C now >_> im on air cond

2 possibilities

1. ram limitation, but i wouldnt think it is, as value rams easily does 450fsb 5-6-6-18
2. CPU's limitation, this is more of the culprit. To test it, increase the GTL slightly and pump more volts. 1.65v or something. Q66 ain't for hitting 4ghz, even 3.4-3.6ghz is considered its limit

bro, u wan up 400mhz from 3.6 to 4.0 but add 0.05v oni???? try calculate c la, how can enuf =.="

u will most probably need 1.6v and above de ler... ur 1.4 stable at 3.6, u try 3.8 at 1.45 1st... if cannot then u shud noe de...

wat kucingfight said is true, value ram can easily go 450fsb, well depending on the multiplier.... i'd say 1000mhz is about the limit of 800mhz value ram

try set 1.6vcore or more if u want to hit 4ghz. slightly increase cpu vtt. nb voltage, vdimm. since u get bsod at 1.5v i think 1.6v should let u get into window.
if u want to stable it, i think it quite hard for a q6600..
at 3.6ghz 55c in full load is not high at all imo..

why don't u lower the ram divider??at least the ram will run at lower speed..So ram won't be u'r limitation

its already at 1:1.

@ TS,

you have yet to let us know what board you are using smile.gif

You want better temps, use water and when i say water, Im not talking about the zalman, gigabyte or thermaltake toys, but a real water cooled setup, or phase. Else you are probably at the pinnacle of air cooling already.

Bro i tried 4.0ghz failed to run at 1.6vcore
maybe coz i didn't up the MCH voltage and stuff these settings are making me confused >_> which should i increase?
btw..im running 3.8ghz now running at 1.55vcore 3rd core failed
trying to reduce the vcore and test how much can i go

Added on December 15, 2008, 12:38 amOh the board is Gigabyte EP45-DS3 only @@ i guess it should be ok right? lol tongue.gif just newly bought it

even if u get x48 mobo, the limitation of 4ghz for q6600 is still the proc itself... not only u need high voltage to make it at that speed, its hard to make the proc stable at that speed, unless you're using extreme cooling like dry ice or phase change or liquid nitrogen, where u dont have to worry much about temperatures and can pump as much voltage as the board allows...

unless of course u got the golden chip of q6600 dat can go 4ghz at 1.3 or 1.4v tongue.gif then dat will be a diff story

Don't think that Q6600 can hit 4ghz with only air cooling alone bro. You can reach 3.6 is pretty good d. Don't need chiong so high gua.

Hmm...ok guys thanks for your ideas @@ i guess i should change to E8400 or Qxxxx version happy.gif
Coz its already limit it seems still bottlenecking my graphic crossfire -.-

Ram usually wont bottleneck anything... its usually between CPU and GPU
