200
------ X 100 = 40% (example 1)
500

200
____ x 100 = 40% (example 2)

500

These 2 examples formula is write in a "ugly way". I want write this kind of formula in microsoft word in a "pretty way" .

1. For example 1, I wan the ----- become a straight line.
2. But if I write using the way as example 2, the space/range between "200" and "the line" is too wide.
3. Conclusion, what I want is just like the math question/formula as we saw in math exam paper/text book.

Anyone can teach me ? thanks notworthy.gif

I wonder too.

but, from my understanding, this:

(200/500)x100=40%

means the same thing right?

Ya...but if writing some presentation / report , we need to use the format of

A
-- X C = D
B

To make it look pretty.

Anyone know how to write it ?

There's an add-on in office. It's called equation editor. You can basically write all forms of math equations with it.

Thank you very much, finally can already.
However, have some problem when I use fraction.

Example, I want to type :

Total cost
------------ X 100
Total sales

But it will become :

Totalcost
-----------x100 (Because I notice I cannot use "spacebar" when using the fraction)
Totalsales

How can I use space ? to type "Total Cost" but not "Totalcost"

Mine is Microsoft office word 2003..
Anyway, problem solved after I search in google.
The way to use "space" is ctrl+shift+spacebar (quite troublesome).
