Thanks for the input guys.
Well, for Raw there will be always be next time. XD. Maybe a True Religion?? Err.. Don't know it's just me or what, would you spend RM1000+ to something that doesn't fit at 1st? You wear it like only a week plus than only would fit. After 1st wash, the color also will look different? I'm kinda scared of it. Can someone enlighten me? I see some of the Evisu in BAB is some EU. But, mine is stated there "Tokyo,Osaka". So I assume is a Japan region one. Also, some of the Evisu I tried is not even Selvage. Buying a Selvage one or non-selvage, what's the difference anyway? So, I assume mine is Selvage by looking inside out of the jeans at the bottom part? Gardens Levi's also have some LVC's. Red Tag and some 1940++ cutting. I'm not so interested in Levi's LVC anyway. I would rather spend it on Evisu/7Jeans/True Religion. This post has been edited by ujoewong: Feb 7 2010, 01:45 PM |

QUOTE(treflip @ Feb 7 2010, 03:11 PM) dude seriously...you'd rather spend a thousand on a pairi of pre-wash distress jeans rather than spending it on a pair of brand new, un-treated, non-distressed jeans that wont last as long compared to a brand new raw? its like u spend more on a second hand car which is already worn out rather then spending less on a brand new one..its like buying a second hand BMW which has not been taken care off, that is falling apart waiting for the days to crumble rather then buying the latest brand new BMW model fresh from the show room or may be the factory... Wow Treflip !! Thanks for the informative reply !! You rock. Finally, after much research, I can finally see a proper information on Raw Jeans.why i would rather spend more on a pair of raw that would not 'fit me at first' which will be snug fit and would loosen up a week after is the way it should be coz...u would buy a jeans that would fit you rather than buying a pair that would not, i.e that is loose...coz buying raw jeans that is tight or fitting at first would result in a perfect fit that would confirm to ur body shape...imagine if u buy a pre wash fit that is in the beggining fits u slightly loose...would be even more looser as u wear them? would it not fit u perfectly on ur body after a few wear? and it being pre wash how can u ever possibly make it fit u again by washing the jeans as it wont shrink down at all?? plus if you buy a raw pair it would last you a life time rather than buying a pre-washed distressed jeans that has a lesser life span of may be half or more than half compared to a brand new raw pair... and you would rather spend your buck on true religion and 7 jeans rather then the ever superior levi's LVC that is the true classic that started it all?? my gosh u better get ur info and knowledge straight son to make it easier for u to know which brand are considered premium denim are the ones that are known to be japanese brand denim like samurai, sugar cane, denime, flathead, iron heart, momotaro, doubeworks, Edwin, rbj, japanese evisu, pbj, etc etc...these denim can be compared to Levi's LVC...the reason why japanese denim and japanese denim brand is the most superior denim compared to others is a whole different story which i assume you guys are able to look for it yourselves.....so premium denim can be rated as such, beggining with the japanese denim makers being on top (and perhaps LVCs are catogoraized here as well, correct me if im worng), then non-japanese brand denim which uses japanese selvage material such as naked and famous, APC, nudie, dr denim, etc etc,,,brands like true religion, 7 for all mankind, ed hardy, etc etc are considered last or not even being in the category of premium denim at all to some denim enthusiasts. in other words these brands like true riligion etc etc are, once more, wannabe premium denim brand and to some would call it 'posers'. They are hyped up just becoz of celebrities rock them and not becoz of pure quality and soul of the denim...i.e they are expensive purely becoz of the fact that they are designers and not becoz of the quality they possessed.. but then again in the end its up to u and ur preferences...if u like true religion and all these designer brands with no quality then go for it...if u like these japanese premium denim that has quality in them then go for it...but its up to u to decide and its up to ur wisdom as well...spend your money wisely...think about it yourself peace guys ps..japanese premium line, levis LVC, and the non japanese brand denim brand that both uses japanese selvage are considerd superior compared to the wanna be premium designer denim brands like true religion are so is becoz these premium denim brands uses japanese made selvage denim and american made selvage cone denim whch are the best in the world...God knows about the material used in brands like true religion, 7 jeans, ed hardy, evisu EU, evisu puma etc etc uses in their denim...and plus having the low quality denim material build in them and for the fact that they are pre-washed and distressed?? my gosh imagine how low the quality of the jeans would be after all the distressing...how easy it would break!! would u spend 800 bucks or so on something that would break easily compared to raw denim? think about it... Don't say peace out or something. I'm not angry nor pissed off. Now, I see the worth in Levi's LVC. Where can we get see more RAW Jeans as in inventory in retail stores? I'm located in Kuala Lumpur as I'm a student pursuing my studies in here. But, every 2 weeks, I will go back to Johor Bahru for the weekend. I may just drop by Singapore for a walk or something since it is so near to my place. *40 minutes drive if no jam* Care to drop me some places to check it out? I can also tell you guys what's available there. Orchard or somewhere else. You just name it. PS: Dang you awesome people, now I'm thinking of buying another pair of Evisu's. BIG THANKS TO TREFLIP AS WELL!!! |

QUOTE(treflip @ Feb 7 2010, 05:49 PM) No no..peace just a phrase i alwasy use la bro..its another way for me to say 'signing off'....well its ok that u bought the pre wash evisu..but whats done is done..so just rock it till its really broken into...urs i think is not the japan nor th eeu one...the eu one has the eu written on the leather patch..yours is most probably made in maccau...all i know u can only get japanese made evisu, well in japan of course...or u can get them from the blue in green webstore online or u visit the blue in green store itself in new york as they are the only one in the states that brings in japanese made evisu...i think may be they are the only online store besides japan site that carry japanese made evisu...other than that evisu's are either made in maccau or china or italy..etc etc...in kl the only good one for me is the levi's LVC..other than that there is oen shop in bangsar called juice which carry's in japanese brand street wear stuff like head porter and such and they also have this one raw denim by head porter plus....but since u alwasy go back to JB and always go to singapore than ur best bet is get them in singapore...u can go to queen's couture, front row, the lawn etc etc..they stock up good jeans..and also u can always visit uniqlo and get them all japan made raw selvage jeans for a good decent price...rather then buying evisu i recommend you contact this dude and visit his thread..he can help u get better jeans like the flat heads etc etc Argh DANG !! Me and my whole family just went for 1 week holiday in JAPAN during the lest december. Travel around Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. Ginza, Tokyo is the place you find most branded stuff. Including the famous Japan only "Burberry Black Label". My cousin bought a Trench Coat there. Around 70000 yen++.http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=1254494&hl= Only now I know more about Jeans. Damn I stay around Bangsar. The Juice shop is the Edison Chen one right?? I'll go take a look. UNIQLO!!?? I love shopping for tee's there. SDG15 can get you a good T-Shirt. Some more, chances of wearing the same T-Shirt with Malaysians are almost zero. I think I went to ION Orchard Uniqlo. Din't know they have some good jeans there. |

Miss out a lot.Anyway bro, need your help here. My waist is 32. Let's say I'm buying a Raw pair of jeans. What size should I get? It will expand itself as I use it right? So, should I size down 2 to size 30?? Example this pair of Japanese Evisu No.1 in this website. They do have size 30 available and do ship to Malaysia. http://blueingreensoho.com/site/index.php?...emart&Itemid=28 And then they have something like this listed, Shrink to Fit Expected shrinkage is as follows: Waist -2.5 Front Rise -0.5 Back Rise -1 Upper Thigh -0.75 (total) Knee -0.75 (total) Leg Opening -0.5 (total) Inseam -2.5 What is the shrink about? I thought it will expand? But, here listed shrink. The shrink will occur after washing or what? Please enlighten me. If I'm right, I may just get it. |

QUOTE(OdynVovk @ Feb 9 2010, 03:17 PM) fyi, the sizings are basically ppl's general consensus of how they want those jeans to fit. for sammies u cant really go wrong as they dont stretch like rubber as a.p.cs do. thats why sizing for apc jeans are so tricky to begin with (and their vanity sizing policy isnt helping too). so the general consensus for a regular fit for the s5000 model is going down 1. I see. Don't mind me asking but what is the meaning of "sammies"? Another thing, why are some 17oz and some are 21oz? What's the differences? Weight? Thickness? |

QUOTE(ahtiven @ Feb 9 2010, 04:48 PM) sammies refers to Samurai denims. if you've been reading, BIG increased their prices for samurai products recently. a whooping 40usd a pair. I'm a College Student. Walking around the campus or attending lectures in class is what I do the most.21oz are heavier and thicker yes. are you in air con room most of the time? As a newbies in selvage jeans, I wonder why the brand Evisu is not as popular already. I can see some threads bashing about Evisu in forum SuperDenim. I thought they're great? |

@treflip,
oh yea. How's your 21oz Naked and Famous doing?? What's your comment in 21oz Jeans? Heavy? Hard to walk or some sort? Am thinking about 21oz sammies. Or perhaps 24oz sammies? They have it in Blue in Green. |

Hi guys,
Just bought myself a fine pair of Japanese Levi's Fenom. But it is too big for me. Need some altering services for my jeans. Also, need to preserve my selvage line. Anyone can recommend any good tailors in KL? How about Lord's Tailor from Bangsar Shopping Centre, Ruth from KLCC or Spark Manshop in The Gardens? Anyone dealt with them before? Need an experienced tailor to do this for me. I won't mind paying if the tailor know's what they are doing. |

QUOTE(TangChristo @ Jul 24 2010, 11:16 PM) Where can i find these kind of levi's jeans? I have a pair of those. The one at the backpocket has red color stitched levi's signature. Those are the Levi's Premium range. The fit on those are awesome. Added on July 25, 2010, 12:19 am QUOTE(bidfordun @ Jul 25 2010, 12:04 AM) Ruth tailer work isnt bad at all, but you need to ask them to preserve the selvedge. I didnt and my selvedge was gone. Ouch, I feel your pain. Err, can they alter without touching the selvage line? Hmm.. I'm planning to preserve mine too. Hi guys,
I just bought myself a Dior Homme RAW 19cm Made in Japan Size 33 from Selfridges, Oxford Street, UK. For 260 GBP - 10% VAT Refund = Around GBP 234. After conversion shall be around RM1100-ish. I myself having a waist of 34, decided to size down one size. This is my first pair of RAW Denim. Here are some fit pics, any feedback shall be much appreciated. Thanks a lot. QUOTE(Grimm @ Jan 7 2011, 06:52 PM) @ujoewong I nearly cried when I entered Selfridges Superman Brand section. Ok, that was mega spending! Haha. But rather cheap for a pair of DHs. Probably because of the VAT refund. Bottom extreme left = beautiful stackings Bottom extreme right = be careful not to continue stacking your left leg like that... or the creases will permanently look jumbled up after a while. Mmmmm... why does it not look like what I expected it to be? Like something's a little off... =/ can't place it Everything is there, like 50% mark down price from Malaysia. Evisu Jeans got 50% off, so only around 60-90 GBP for No.2,3 RAW Pairs. PRPS, True Religion, Desquared2, A.McQueen, Burberry Possum, Dior Homme. The Sneakers section was godlike. Prada, DSquared2, Dior Homme Sneakers thrown on a table like Pasar Malam All around 100-150 GBP Price. About the Dior Homme Jeans, Maybe because I'm fat and I have a Big Thigh. I mean how do I wear RAW Jeans ? I just rock it out like normal ? Or is there any special procedure to perform before wearing it ? Thanks for the feedback. Regards. |

If got job, that is Hmm, maybe you have bigger thighs thats why @ kuzgo Its normal to have super stackings. They are made damn long. Like 34" or 36" Coz gwai lous are almost always 6 footers and above. I was in the UK for holidays. Planning to go overseas for my 3rd year though. So, shall I alter them or keep the stacks ? @kuzgo, Thanks ! |
