if u're talking about APCs, then u get the Rescues which is a relaxed straight cut.

QUOTE(Confession @ Jul 13 2009, 08:04 PM)

mofonyx, cheers for the info. i'm actually kinda sick of slim/skinny jeans at the moment. breaking in raw slim denim in KL is a real b****. now i'm looking for something loose and soft to break in. that's why i wann try FC.

the 0105C sounds pretty much like what i'm looking for atm. is that the model u have?

the sufu FC contest is mainly the 1108 only innit. haven't seen the other models in there

yea most FC threads in sufu are all on the 1108, nothing much about their other models. right now am looking at either the 0105 or 1101 model.

anyone thinking of joining cultizm's LVC contest in sufu? they're offering free shipping worldwide for any pair of LVCs!

i'm very tempted to get a pair of 1947 from them.

Nicholas - awesome pair u have there. one of the very few ppl in m'sia rocking a pair of sams...respekt!

Treflip - maybe u could use a proxy service to get the uniqlos from japan. seen a guy in Garage Sales doing japan proxies. or you could always take a trip down to Singapore's uniqlo outlet.

ahtiven: dope jawns u have there but i'm afraid those shoes don't really cut it with a pair of repro denims. get any pair of boots featured in "Shoes that look better with age" thread in sufu and u're good to go dude. that's only my 2 sen opinion though biggrin.gif

them canes are definitely next on my list but it's gonna be a while before i cop them cuz i'm breaking in my dry Lee 101z now.

good to see more m'sians getting on sufu!

dessert boots is a good suggestion! or even a pair of wallabees. red wings will work very well with repro denims too. yea i agree that those vintage repro work boots there are freaking expensive and no where in m'sia stocks them.

there isn't much store in KL that stocks selvedge denims. the only few i know is Levis in The Gardens has got some LVCs and Gap stocks some selvedge as well. be prepare to fork out anywhere between RM300-900 though.

here's a tip, i actually found a pair of raw 501 LVC 1901 cut in the Levis store in Jusco Bukit Raja Klang for RM590 about 2-3 months ago. size was 30X34. it's definitely a bargain considering that a new pair can easily cost RM800-900. i guess not many Klang ppl know how to appreciate selvedge denims. anyone wanna cop, better hurry biggrin.gif

anyways, after mucking around for many years with APCs, Diors, Helmut Langs, Fullcounts, Skulls etc, i wanna return to basics. as much as i like LVCs i think there just too many fakes around. so as i mentioned before, i'm working on a pair of Lee 101z that i got for xmas. nice and lightweight (11.5oz) which is not too overbearing for m'sian weather and i'm very curious to see how it's gonna pan out. planning to rock them for 2yrs haha. i've already got them hemmed and chain-stiched but haven't got pics yet.

here the pics when new:

thanks for the approval dude biggrin.gif. it's a 101z model, not a Lee Riders. these are quite slim cut, very similar to Nudies Slim Jim. i'm giving it 2 yrs cuz i only get to wear jeans on weekend.

my APCs went for about 1.5 yrs and only got minimal fades. too bad they're too small for me now, or else i'll wear them down even further. i've passed them down to my gf already haha

got them Lees as a gift on xmas. apparently it's from s'pore but i dunno where (my gifter doesn't wanna reveal). the selvedge is what they call a "fake selvedge" in sufu haha. even though it looks stitched on but trust me they're really the edge of the denim fabric.

most Lees i know are also sanforized but not this pair. the pics above were taken after a 1 hour hotsoak and it shrank a size. the best indicator of whether a pair of denim is unsanforized or not is to look out for leg-twist. my pair twisted to the left cuz it's left-hand twill. most raw jeans out are right hand twills therefore they'll twist to the right. sanforized denims will never have leg-twists.

anyways, if i recall correctly, when Tangs first opened in Pavilion a few years, they stock a similar pairs but it was the Gold Label Lee 101z for RM299. wanted to pick up a pair but no size. mysteriously after less than a year...it all dissappeared. i think becuz they realized that they were selling them for too cheap cuz market price was about USD120.

my chain-stitch were done in campbell plaza, 1st floor. the only godamn place in KL that does it haha

whoa thanks for the link treflip. i've got the same problem as that guy too...the waist dips below the belt a bit, but the fit is the same as his.

and he got it for 15pounds! damn cheap

thanks OdynVovk for that link. quite informative.

normal altering would cost anything from RM10-30. depends on wat u wanna do. as for which side of tapering, they can do either way (inseam or outseam). even single or double-stitching inseams also they can kow tim

holy mother...24 oz. quite useful if u live in the antartic haha.

yea the pic of my hem were before i got them chainstitched. haven't upload the pics after i got it done yet.

so i popped by the levis store in Bukit Raja again and the LVC is still there. but it was my mistake, it's actually a pair of raw 1890 model 501XX. size is 30X34. pictures below for reference.

nope, it's not a gripper zipper. it's a normal zipper with "LEE" on it.

QUOTE(yeezai @ Feb 4 2010, 06:17 PM)
bro your 101z comes with gripper zipper ?? thanks ...

wow u went for 26?! that's brave dude haha. i'm the same waist size as you too, my APC NS were 27 and it was perfect, tight at first but after a month it stretch out nicely. i'd suggest u size up.

QUOTE(sembilan @ Feb 5 2010, 09:43 AM)
treflip, i was wondering how long did your APC take for it to stretch to a comfortable size, assuming you size down. I bought a 26 (my true waist is 30 or 31), and it's really, really tight, and i am wondering if i should let go and buy another pair in 27, or hang on to it. Thanks in advance.

here's fit pic of my 101z just to put moar pics on this page haha

much kudos to treflip for his post on premium denimz. i'd have to concur with him in every way.

let me add something on top of his post. with raw denims, u'll also get mad fades~ distress marks, whiskers, honeycombs which are uniquely done by the person wearing it. so the pair tells the story of your lifestyle, sweat, blood and tears. no other pair of faded jeans will be the same as the one u've worn the hell out of for 1-2 yrs.

as compared to getting a pair of pre-distressed denim from a boutique where u'll probably see another douchebag wearing the same pair around the corner. u can proudly say that this pair is molded and worn with your own soul that contains memories and sentiments that holds true to youself.

as they say, pics says a thousand words -
here a brand new pair of raws:
