Carragher might have scored the most own goals, but make no mistake, he ranks one of the most daring and no nonsense defender i've ever seen. From the very few Liverpool games that i watch, he's like the unsung hero of the team and i've seen him make some really good last ditch tackles that saved LFC's butt. Inevitably, in doing so you tend to score a few more own goals which is quite usual.

I remember there was a joke on ManUtd and Wes Brown around circa 2001 in a magazine. It was about how to score against ManUtd. It went something like "Shoot the ball towards the direction of Wes Brown and hope" ... really lol'ed back then

1 of it was a deflection that counted as own goal.. against fulham in 2006

Richard Dunne of Manchester City. This season he score against his own net the most.

compare to normal club matches, world cup have more people betting on it...

and some people just cant get over it after losing

Haha, I never know that Rio has scored so many own goals.

That fella has absolutely no chemistry with his goalkeeper. He always looks like an accident waiting to happen when put under pressure.

it proves jamie and rio are good defender, they try 100% to prevent the goal from going in, so the chances of scoring own goal will be high ...

in short i think ppl who score own goals are center defenders. the only defender i actually see scoring goals is john terry.. that is 1 crazy guy.

Almost definitely is Jamie who has also surpassed the 500 mark in terms of appearances for the club last season.

err scoring own goals is sure a poor excuse if to show ure a top class defender. this just proves that english defenders lack the technical ability compared to european defenders (cannavaro,nesta,maldini etc) & try to make it up with throwing tackles&bodies everywhere.hence the own goals.i think

another new thread to make who is the high score defender ? (john terry, bosingwa ??)

I'm a little confused by your post. Giotto is an Arsenal fan and I'm not against him suggesting that Carra had scored a fair amount of OG's. Heck even I said that a pg or two ago. I'm countering a post by one of your own that suggests Giotto is a Liverpool fan and is defending Carra because he is one, which he is not.

I think miz is merely defending giotto that his post was part of relevant discussion as well and not just mere defending carra EVEN IF he is a liv supporter which he is not.

no people forgot and underrated him ... in fact he already epl best CB during his 1st year in liverpool ... together with henchoz/babbel/carragher form a solid liverpool back line.
