QUESTION: Chunky Nike Sneakers e.g. SBs + Skinny tapered jeans for GUYS - YAY or NAY?

All my jeans/long pants are skinny, some super skinny. planning to expand my sneaker arsenal to include some Nikes but they are generally chunkier than my lacoste plimsolls, tigers and boat shoes. dont know if skinny will go well with nikes. what's your take?
