Sorry, I am new here. Here is my case, I was renting a master room which is RM450 per month at Alpha Condominium Wangsa Maju. One of my housemate from medium room will be moved out after two month notice and yet the medium still do not have any sub tenant to move in after 3rd month. So my house leader said that whole tenants in the same house must bear the cost of one empty slot in medium for the following month.

Can anyone help me find any statement from Law of Malaysia that shows I do have the right to bear the cost of other room while I was renting Master room?

Really urgent, thank you so much.

Read you tenancy agreement. If you did sign one that is.

If you rented you room direct from your landlord you are only liable to pay "YOUR" rent which is RM 450.

If however you along with your friends rented the entire unit and then decided to sub divide the rent amongst yourselves you are liable to make the total monthly rental payment to your landlord irrespective of their being a room vacant.

The simple way to solve your issue would be to know what sort of tenancy agreement you have entered into with your landlord.

There were few problem related to this.

1st, there was no tenancy agreement between my landlord and I for the rent of master room because the master room was advertised by house leader.

2nd, I was renting the master room on my own through the advertisment.

3rd, there was also no tenancy agreement between my house leader and I for the rent of master room.

4th, while medium room still have 2 more tenants who are living in it, are obliged to bear the cost of medium room rent?

So, I just really want to know is there any clauses stated in tenancy agreement or law of Malaysia that I need to pay not only my own master room rent as well as other empty medium room rent?

If I can find any clause and statement from law of malaysia then I can show it to my house leader coz he did not believe that I was not responsible for other room rent.

Thanks for your reply!

There is no such law. This is purely a domestic issue and your options are to suck it up and pay or move out.

Not the right subforum for this either.
