I've downloaded several apps like cycoder, voice recorder and some lighters (you blow into it and flame goes off) and a flute. It seems that the mic on my phone does not work only for apps. Did a full settings reset and it still does not work. When I plug in the headset it works like a charm. No problems with calls either on phone and headset. Anyone faced this problem before and solved it? Would be great if someone helped. Thanks in advance!

So when you plug in your headset the mic works fine for the apps? If that is so, give this a try.

Plug your headset in and out a few times. Do it gently. If that doesn't work, try plugging in your headset, run one of the app (eg cycoder, etc) and have someone call you when the app is open. Pick up the call and unplug the headset. See if that solves the problem.

I'm just giving you hit or miss solutions here btw since this earphone jack/mic issue seems to be almost randomly different in each case.
