try bringing this issue up to Ball; if the guy you are talking to is unable to do anything, escalate.

who knows, with enough effort, you might just get your money back.

i bought the one pictured above (black dial) for about myr7.8k in '05. later on, i purchased the complimenting speedmaster (silver dial) for about gbp2.3k in '07.

the reason why i got this was because it was able to tell date, day, and month.

perhaps you can try certina (example as below):
http://www.certina.com/Collection/Gent-Aut...Valgranges.aspx

i belive the price would suit your budget perfectly (~myr2-3k), is swiss made (although not a luxury watchmaker), and has decent, classic designs.

i don't know how to read that; sarcasm, or being a wise-ass. sorry.

anyway; to clarify on my statement; no. you cannot get a DS podium valgrance for myr2.5-3k. however, you can get a DS1 for within the stated budget,

matter of fact, this DS1 (ref: C006.407.16.081.00) is under myr3k before discounts:

fauzul: i wasn't referring to you. however, good to hear that we have similar tastes. i honestly don't know much about watches, and i don't get too uptight about details; but that DS1 i posted earlier looks classic, and i think will still look good as time passes.

and don't worry, more than half the time, i have no idea what the rest in here are on about.

when i do see a watch that i do like, i will spend the time doing my individual research. my advise is that you should try that. you already have a budget, and now, you've been equipped with brand names - try looking these names up and move on from there.

--

edit: as a sidenote, the picture of the certina i posted - i believe malaysian retail is about myr2.5k before discount.

this is the watch i got my gf. seems to last about 8 hours as well. she seems to have lost the manual so there's nothing i can read. haven't tried to read up online yet; will do so when i get some free time.

but yeah, seems to last about 8 hours only. most mornings, she has to wind them up.

well, have you verified your paypal yet?

paypal verification is a process where paypal will deduct funds from your debit/credit card. this is to verify your home address and you will be able to get these funds back (typically <$1usd from memory).

a lot of online stores/sellers do not ship to paypal accounts without a prior verified address, so if you have not performed this simple step, i believe the fault is actually on your end.

otherwise, if you have already done this; you can simply tell this store to cancel your order. in the case that they still proceed to take funds off paypal, lodge an issue on paypal and try for a chargeback on your credit card.

hope this helps.

ck77: you do not HAVE to verify paypal to continue with transactions.

the verification process basically just solidifies the fact that your address is as per your registered paypal address. it has happened before that a buyer scams a seller by having them ship to an address that is not verified.

anyway; hopefully he can get this little issue sorted.

one of my pet peeves about tag is that not many of their designs are classic. you buy a watch today, and chances are, 5 years down the road, they look visibly retro. very few of them are timeless.

having said that, i think tags from 5-8 years back were the best (in terms of design).

was looking through some watches last night - checked the price of the new omegas out. asked how much discount, and the salesperson told me 15% with receipt, and 20% without receipt (but with warranty, etc).

anyone happen to know the reasoning behind this?

lol, somehow it just doesn't seem to make much sense to me. selling the watch with/without receipt does not dispel the fact that the actual physical unit has been sold (?).

...or maybe my reasoning is just messed up lah laugh.gif
