[QUOTE]perhaps you can try certina (example as below):
http://www.certina.com/Collection/Gent-Aut...Valgranges.aspx

hello r3kahsttub
i took a look at the certina, very nice! suits my taste quite well. What are its special features? do you know the price for it?

i have been reading this forum from the very 1st thread until now, i still dont understand the grey market stuff. Is it genuine watches? patryn33 pmed me and suggested a hamilton from a grey market, i peeped into hamilton website and found pretty nice ones. i am interested to get a hamilton from a grey market, but im worried about the authenticity, and after sales services. another matter that im confused about is are these grey market are just on the net, or are there some brick and mortar watch sellers that is a part of the grey market?

be great if anyone here can give me a crash course on auto watches..

i don't know how to read that; sarcasm, or being a wise-ass. sorry.

anyway; to clarify on my statement; no. you cannot get a DS podium valgrance for myr2.5-3k. however, you can get a DS1 for within the stated budget,

matter of fact, this DS1 (ref: C006.407.16.081.00) is under myr3k before discounts:

i assume u are writing the above to me. anyway, i wasnt being sarcastic, i really liked the watch, and i think u and i have the same taste. do u think i can get it for under 3k?

to patryn33
yup, im in my early 20s, just started my career recently, havent finished study yet tho.. i have been wanting to own a true mechanical swiss watch for so long, and since my bday coming up soon, looking to give myself a nice bday present.. been studying the pages of this forum to get more knowledge, and it seems the more i read the less i know what u guys are talking about.. haha. u seem to be one of the most knowledgeable here, mind giving me some tutorials on watches, movements, design, and all.. i really dont know where to start..

to all forumners,
hello! im a guy in my early 20s, and i want to take up watch collection as my hobby. my dream watch for now is a panerai, think i will be able to get it in 10 years? haha
anyway, i would welcome any tips, info and insights from all of you. Thanks in advance!

fauzul: i wasn't referring to you. however, good to hear that we have similar tastes. i honestly don't know much about watches, and i don't get too uptight about details; but that DS1 i posted earlier looks classic, and i think will still look good as time passes.

and don't worry, more than half the time, i have no idea what the rest in here are on about.

when i do see a watch that i do like, i will spend the time doing my individual research. my advise is that you should try that. you already have a budget, and now, you've been equipped with brand names - try looking these names up and move on from there.

edit: as a sidenote, the picture of the certina i posted - i believe malaysian retail is about myr2.5k before discount.

whoa! thats quite a collection u got there. 2 omegas.. the quantity does not matter. its like having 2 BMWs, definitely better than having 4 Potong Sag@ tongue.gif
anyway, i bet u started your collection with the seiko?
i have a lot of friends studying overseas, in europe, aussie. would brands that are european based be cheaper in europe or is it just the same?
