QUOTE(davc @ Dec 17 2009, 01:49 PM) i have been an avid swiss watch supporter since ages ago but after checking out the latest market recently, u may notice a sudden rise in popularity in japanese movement watches. in terms of design and quality, it seems to be picking up and i dare said it's in par with its swiss counterpart. the technology used is rather intriguing. that's why i took the plunge to try out the latest seiko premier and i must say, im happy about it especially the reception towards the watch. in fact the high range seiko watches dun come cheap nowadays. i came across a limited edition Seiko Arctura and it cost a whooping rm19000 for a japanese movement watch. i guess it's time we look out of the box cheers The problem with Seiko is they have too wide range of products, starting from hundreds to hundreds of thousands! Though I do appreciate their high end watch and agreed that the quality is superb, but I don't see myself willing to fork out RM20k for a GS. QUOTE(hakunamatata @ Dec 17 2009, 05:11 PM) can a thin guy wear steel type bracelet watch? I saw alot thin person wear but nvr fit to the hand.. Saw a very nice steel bracelet watch.. but my mum said the bracelet only can cut like 2-3 pieces.. is it? Why not, its all down to own preference. The bracelet's link could remove to fit small wrist, no worries

QUOTE(patryn33 @ Dec 20 2009, 10:25 PM) ppl say get a homage to test drive for a few mth, when it grow on u get real watch. anyway, wait another yr or so.. prices will come down. AD around the region still sell them at no discount. pre-own market prices coming down, 2yrs ago ppl make US$1-2K selling a gently used Pam. today prices still high (better than Rolex for a brand that use alot of ETA as a base), takes time to soften http://www.watchseller.com/panlummaraut2.htmljust saw tis Pam 48 no demand? new retails US$6200, used selling US$3650. bad econ, prices softening fast in the US http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=339431Nah I don't think I can afford this So I guess am gonna live with homage

QUOTE(bearbrick @ Dec 26 2009, 01:13 PM) yea that's the exact one. try to play with the compass still couldn't get it work btw i might letting go at reasonable price if anyone would like to grab this baby home. You don't have the manual to refer? Is funny that Tag Heuer put the compass indicator instead of tachymeter on the bezel if it don't work

QUOTE(davc @ Jan 9 2010, 06:45 PM) what i meant is as in second hand that sweeps across the face of the watch instead of the conventional ticking second hand. a very good example would be the seiko springdrive...notice the second hand actually sweeps across the face instead of ticking? it's the graceful movement of the second hand that caught my attention but im looking for swiss made watch with similar concept Any automatic or manual movement will do the same effect. Cheapest Swiss made would be Swatch automatic series.

QUOTE(davc @ Jan 9 2010, 07:17 PM) easiest way to explain second hand sweeping is by watching this clip sweeping second hand] That's what me and patryn33 talking about, any mechanical watches would have sweeping second hand. Unless we interpret wrongly
