today I think Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra got the 8500 movement, with time maybe u see it in more models.
then again with time... prices go up too!!!

are U the kind who love 10 3K watches vs 1 30K watch?

everyone is bounded by economically and by monthly commitments (family, house mortgage, etc etc).
anyway my pt is are U the kind who will get a few entry level swiss made watches (oris, Ball, Tag etc) or a mid Lux watch (Omega, Cartier)
RM300 a bit too extreme here.. a few 3-5 RM3-4k over 1 RM12-20K.

die hard collector would have brunch off to vintage watches and collect a certain type of watches.
I have see a die hard collector showing me a tin box filled with military style watches, some cheap like those Hamilton others a JLC/IWC. all no strap just case and further more free to bang at each other. that really wow me.

sorry forget to cite the source.

me family and kids come 1st.. watch is last on my list. perhaps the next watch I'll get is a Rolex Datejust for my spouse. Need to replace her oris.

alot of watches can me on collectorstime for super long time. Econ bad how many ppl do drop $$ like no one biz.

me? I always wanted Omega Seamaster James bond blue to replace my old Tag.. but in the end I still got my Zenith Defy Pwr res.
me no love for cartier. Chopard maybe just the LUC collection!! all inhouse movement, plus if they every improve the movement your watch will get the improvement when u take it in for servicing. thats service!

Can i know how much is each luxury watch?

Just got back from Bookshop browsing watch magazine March 2010 and i saw this Omega where patryn33 posted. I was shock u guys really into watches.  thumbup.gif If im not mistaken the saw was stated at 12k (from mag)

Been reading 1 forum talk (chicks talk on watches) many chicks fall in love for Zenith? I wonder y? with all the blink blink???

Now u guys make me like IWC/ Zenith/Maurice Lacroix/Longines/Tag/Omega

Ohh dear, what can i get now? Does Maurice Lacroix come with chronograph?
qns: thats a hard qns, too board.

qns 2: I think cause not many brands out there make ladies watch at this price range. either a Rolex, Zenith, Ulysse Nardin, Perrelet.. non traditional perhaps?

qns 3: confuse? just go with your heart and what u could afford.

qns 4: ML does come with chrono. pontos collection is the entry level.. ML 112 based 7750.

another black on black watch. not PVD but black ceramic.

a pic of the ML 112, not much decoration compare to those in masterpiece collection. U just missed the big 50% sale event off their masterpiece.

some buy watches to appreciate the in-house movement.. instead of having the common ETA heart ticking across so many watches from across the range.. but based on feedback of owners of both the IWC Portuguese Chronograph with IWC specified 7750 is way more accurate when compared to the Portuguese Automatic with in-house movement. (likewise we buy automatic cause its automatic, if its for the accuracy we'd all be wearing Quartz).
well... it could still mean the workers working on IWC Portuguese Chronograph (IIRC its a heavily mod 7750) is doing a better job regulating the watch than those working on Portuguese Automatic (calibre 5000) with in-house movement. diff ppl meant they wear it differently. a small sample size does not prove anything. diff btw +1 and +3 isn't that big of a deal anyway. so long its constantly do so.
http://people.timezone.com/msandler/Articl...000/Review.html

likewise those ppl who claim watch XYZ is within COSC specs, iirc I read a guru post stating its a empty claim. to be strict COSC U got to test in various positions and varies temp... and yada yada.. heck its a forum, just take it as pinch of salt.

@patryn33

Oh bro thanks for all the queries. Appreciate it
I was asking the price for both watches
-Maurice Lacroix
-Longines GrandeVitesse

This ML 112 based 7750 does looks good. But i would like something round smile.gif

Very knowledgeable Hierarchy chart, so where does Oris stand? High-Middle or High-End?
ML 112 is found in something round. Didn't the pic on the movement in a round case?
as for rect/square watch is for those looking for a PVD.

Oris is like a Louis Erard. maybe alittle better than Hamilton.

my love still goes out to Guinand if one seeks a good value for $$ 7750. Helmut Sinn founder of Sinn owns it today. love the philosophy of keeping prices down!
http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.ph...ghlight=guinand
http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=158528

Maurice Lacroix which range? pontos Chronographe Valgranges ? retail ~RM$15.5k
Longines Grande Vitesse (on rubber/leather) retail ~RM$8k.
somehow I find Longines Spirit kinda cool, i heard this line is discontinued.

I think something like this also no bad. ~rm$13k, for some reason gray market is letting it go at 50%. maybe NOS.
user posted image

PVD lovers! HAMILTON KHAKI X-MACH on 44mm case cheap retailing ~RM$6.5k also on 7750.
user posted image

LOUIS ERARD La Sportive Classique. 42mm case. ~RM$9K retail

In bold can provide a link to the post?

ETA move on supplying ebauche is a known fact. iirc ETA did officially release this new. no need IWC to confirm that.

interesting read on IWC for those interested. interesting, even if ETA don't sell ebauche, but complete movement. other watch company are still welcome to buy and mod them! its like Stowa buying complete movement and still take the time to tear them apart, go thru their internal inspection and then reassembling it back. U would think it would be easier to by ebauche, cut the time of having to take it apart,
http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=256887

COSC didn't mean much even in the past. LOL...

ya.. ML seem to have increased the retail price.. but end up giving steep discount.. maybe can find 30%+ off!

the ML Pontos Chronographe Sport Full Black. maybe retailing ~RM$12K

Jazzmaster Maestro? like this??? the back of a unmod, undecorated 7750 behind Hamilton.
I still find the unmod blue screws, gold plated 7750 on Guinand darn pretty. price wise pretty close. if u can get on a super discount like I did for my Hamilton Khaki chrono then thats different case. btw I paid only ~RM$1.8K.

thanks for the links to the info!!! good read!
on that WUS thread, someone look down on Seiko.. I would have to get my hands on 1 of those spring drive. mechanical watch with quartz kinda accuracy. whats wrong with a good seiko anyway, even Tag is using Seiko's movement design on all their future chrono watches.

my hammy... gray market!!!! haha... that time quite a few WUS member jump on this deal too.
not shop thru AD for a super long time already..
Guinand dial... limited design... small time watch maker..
nonetheless I like the series 20 and 40 design.

the tissot visodate does look good...have been searching for a silver face with brown strap. have been looking at nomos, archimede and stowa but was more incline to the nomos design. unfortunately, theres no distributor for nomos in malaysia...the nearest would be in s'pore. will maybe pop in watch guild tomorrow to have a look at the archimede pilot & arcadia models.

fyi, the tissot visodate will be in m'sia in the 2nd half of the year...its rrp is rm1820 (source from swatch group m'sia). maybe should wait for it!
*
go for a Nomos! ya it sucks no AD in the region. the sg AD do carry limited stocks too.
nomos back so pretty

The Archimede Pihot H they quoted is higher than online price, even after discount. But the good thing is you able to see and hold the watch in real before purchase.
*
they need to make $$$ since they do have a physical store.
when they import watches, aren't they taxed?

My budget is around RM 750 - 1000 (about 100 GBP-ish and I can push it to about 150 GBP).

Looking for something like the Seiko above. Classic, but not a big fan of the gold bezel. Preferably something black/white with a leather strap.

Point me in the right direction and I'll be quite happy. Looked at Tissot, Seiko, Casio etc.
*
I gather u looking outside Tissot, Seiko .. have u looked at below brands?

Epos, under rated brand... not much advertising going on, which is good. u're not paying for marketing.
they do make good reliable watches. like most entry level brands eg oris they use ETA movement.

i find it funny that someone in the market to purchase a 50k watch (doesn't really matter MYR/USD/GBP) is posting in a forum... its just that i think he/she should already have an idea of what they want.

especially with that sort of budget.

just imo.

iirc laides AP only the royal oak chrono is in Auto, there is 1 series which is mechanical, the rest all quartz.
even for vacheron constantin ladies mostly quartz or mechanical. if mum don't mind men's design watches, maybe can find in AP, PP or VC but size would be ~39mm.

or go for Louis Moinet.
http://lmtime.com/watches/datoscope.php

A. Lange & Sohne Saxonia Automatik boy size 37mm white gold auto but priced ~rm$87k.

white gold, roman numbers, auto, size 30mm
Breguet Classique Automatic - Ladies (close to RM$50K)

Ferrari might sound too 'automobile' for them? Though modern collection is produced by Panerai.

wonder they get it bcoz of the history or mainly the hype.
ya they make Ferrari current collection, also limited in production however resale value is world's apart.
