 Installing Windows XP, ~nuB questioN~

elow guys...im still new in installing windows (XP)...well...in the past few years...i always send my pc to the shop for reformating (when it has problem)...but when I think of it..it are a waste of $$...why should i spend when i can do it myself?im thinkng of learning how to install windows by myself...but i dun know how to...so..i need help from all of you guys...hope u all can guide me in this new world...

1. wat requirements?
2. do i need win 98,ME,2000 so i can install XP?

Any help appreciate!~

1. basically spec nowadays and then are capable of installing windows xp

2. you just nid a XP installation disc, nothing more..
and a clean formatted HDD

u only need an XP cd...

when booting...press F12....select boot from cd-rw/dvd-rw/cd-rom or whateva... then everything starts from there

so basicly i just need an original Windows XP installation cd.
b4 this,i saw my kazen installing windows xp by installing windows 98 1st.then ME & 2000 & lastly XP.if im not mistaken,this is "Upgrade" installation method.rite?

Make sure your CD-Rom have more priority than your Harddisk, so that you can boot from CD or DVD whenever you press F12.

You just need an bootable Windows XP Installation disc to install. Of course, you need to have your all your hardware driver ready. (Eg: you need XP Driver for all the hardware after you finish install windows.)

your "kazen" is n00b. Just put the Windows XP cd into CDROM and set to boot from CDROM from BIOS. Windows will guide you step by step. Just remember to read

oic..basicly it install clean windws...so all the info about hardware also gone....
microsoft office does not come with windows rite?

maybe ur kazen don't have a xp BOOTABLE cd? that's why the need of upgrading.
if true, upgrade from 98 to xp is enuf.

Correct, correct, correct. It's upgrade disc or maybe he's booting multiple OSes.

You can always create a boot disc if the Windows Installation Disc is not bootable.

now i get it.i thought if wan to install xp need prvious os.vista also apply same method rite?

EDITED : which type of xp CD should i buy?oem?and wat are the differ between these? blink.gif (refer to Acronyms and Abbreviations) & wat is the differ between x64 & x86?

Nope, you don't need XP to install Vista. I'd recommend that you purchase an OEM-license XP SP2. Don't get 64-Bit unless your sure you've got no driver/software/hardware compatibility issues.

Depends on what mobo that u r using. Not every mobo also press F12 sweat.gif

from wat i've read,64-bit windows designed 4 support 64-bit hardware.that means 32-bit hardware wil x work on 64-bit.rite?
