It's easy to understand why OS X does better on laptop power.
Apple Lab: - Focusing only merely 5 current laptop model (MacBook Polycarbonate, MacBook Unibody, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro 15" & 17"). And they engineered the battery. - Supporting pass model that's still within 3-5 yr purchase. Say... 100 models total? Windows Lab: - God know how many new model they have everyday... - And you get funny types of battery no sure where they came from... - So each brand have to supply patch/update to "sumbat lobang" to make it better. Or request a uniques version of OS from Microsoft... And how you ensure the OS best compatibility if you can't pinpoint the hardware?? This post has been edited by wei: May 22 2009, 05:50 PM |

You sure those are original not China imitation? As I aware there're China imitation magsafe out there. Looks exactly the same, just the printing on the adapter is off.

Let's don't jump the gun and call it fake.
Maybe you get a confirmation from your friend it's really what it is first. a) could it be an iBook adapter instead?? b) could it be a used product? c) could it be your friend remember the price wrongly? |

QUOTE(vandetta @ Jun 1 2009, 09:37 PM) Oh this need day to day practice:- Do not run on unregulated power source - Do not run overnight or continuos for days - Do not bend the cable - When disconnect from MacBook, pull from the square part, not the cable - Avoid bending the the end of the cable, if you need to roll up the cable, ensure you have allowance and keep the part coming out from charger brick strait |

Yeap, this is through my repair experience. Even Apple try to make the cable as tough as possible (ofcourse within budget). As we bend/roll/curve the cable over time, the inner sleeve will break and causing short circuit (positive terminal touching ground terminal). Spark and melting will occur if that continue being use. Worse case can cause fire.

QUOTE(dinodog_Jr @ Jun 2 2009, 05:15 PM) i always wrapped the cable around the adapter... Mostly i did this it spoilt my earphones. Wrapped around the gadget..haha. This is a big NO NO way to keep stuff, rite? Now i need to switch off the machine. It seems i am risky the machine if i left it on for days. Even sleeping mode is not a safety situation to do in leaving the machine turn on for days?! I try to say not to strain the cable too much, when you roll don't apply too much force to it. Here's what I meant by having allowance: ![]() About sleeping, it's safe. But if I'm not using the Mac >24hr I will just shut it down. QUOTE(ff8ong @ Jun 2 2009, 05:20 PM) I always use the 2 side plastic that able to slide out from the magsafe and wrap the cable like this. There's no right or wrong, pls don't miss-understand my replies, I'm just sharing some point. Some ppl might not agree about what I said. But yeah. That's how you roll the cable up.![]() correct way? |

QUOTE(bonzaimy @ Jun 8 2009, 12:01 AM) Ok,I bought my mac this APril and I really have a problem with the mail apps that Apple provided. I can get a new mail from Yahoo and gmail( as I only use this provider only) but when I checked my yahoo mail through web(not from apple email apps), it always showed that I haven't read my mail. Its also did't sync with my Iphone. So, even though i already deleted my email(from apple email application), I still get unread email in my Iphone and my yahoo/gmail inbox(from web). Is there anything to resolve this? A bit tiring also because I have to delete it one by one in my Iphone cause I didn't always check my email through web. Look under Mail -> Preferences... -> Acountsp/s ; hard to explain actually but I hope u guys understand ![]() |
